Gel for topical application Antiadgezin
Gel for topical application Antiadgezin

Antiadgezin is an absorbable agent used to prevent the formation of adhesions after laparoscopic procedures and open surgical interventions.

Release form and composition

It is produced in the form of a gel for local use, which is a clear, colorless viscous solution (in disposable syringes of 1.5 g, 3 g, 4 g, 5 g, 6 g and 10 g, in a cardboard box 1 syringe, 1 application catheter and instructions on the use of Antiadgezin).

Composition of 1 ml of gel:

  • sodium carboxymethyl cellulose - 5 mg;
  • sodium hyaluronate - 2.5 mg;
  • NaCl - 8 mg;
  • Na 2 HPO 4 - 1.15 mg;
  • KH 2 PO 4 0.2 mg;
  • KCl - 0.2 mg;
  • water for injection - 1 ml.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Antiadgezin contains highly purified sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, obtained without the use of genetically modified microorganisms. The gel is a sterile biocompatible, biodegradable, bioabsorbable, pyrogen-free product that does not contain antigens and is non-toxic.

The therapeutic effect of Antiadhesin is due to its ability to create an artificial temporary barrier between damaged tissues, which ensures an effective separation of surfaces during their healing. After application to the area of the operating field, the gel, without spreading, adheres to the anatomical surfaces and forms a viscous lubricating coated surface, which creates conditions for sliding of adjacent damaged surfaces, thereby preventing their sticking together.

Antiadhesin is a biodegradable product, therefore, it separates the contacting surfaces only for a period of up to 7 days - the time of the critical phase of wound healing and postoperative adhesion formation, after which it is completely absorbed. At the same time, it does not have a negative effect on the normally proceeding regeneration processes.

Indications for use

Anti-adhesion gel Antiadgezin is used to prevent adhesion after surgical interventions on organs and tissues with serous coating, such as the membranes of the spinal cord and brain, abdominal cavity, joints, tendon sheaths, pericardial cavity, pleural cavity, testicular membranes, nasal cavity, middle ear cavity.

The anti-adhesion gel can be used in any operations involving the risk of postoperative adhesions: nasal cavity, middle ear cavity, capsular contracture, joints, tendon sheaths, pericardial cavity, pleural cavity, abdominal organs (intestines, stomach, liver, spleen), membranes spinal cord and brain, pelvic organs (tubes, ovaries, uterus), testicular membranes.

Antiadhesin can be used in operations involving the risk of soft tissue soldering, for example, in operations on the neck, when there is a high probability of scar formation across all layers of the neck.

With breast augmentation, the gel facilitates the placement of breast implants.

In plastic surgery, Antiadgezin is used as a setting gel.

Contraindications

Absolute:

  • immune disorders;
  • autoimmune diseases;
  • contamination or obvious infection at the site of the operation;
  • hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid, carboxymethyl cellulose or their salts.

Due to the lack of data on the effectiveness and safety, Antiadhesin gel is used with caution in the following cases:

  • severe violations of liver and kidney function;
  • lymphatic diseases;
  • coagulation disorders;
  • malignant neoplasms;
  • period of pregnancy and lactation;
  • the simultaneous use of other anti-adhesive barriers, hemostatic agents and any other drugs.

Antiadgezin, instructions for use: method and dosage

Before using Antiadhesin, it is necessary to aspirate excess liquid for washing so that the intended treatment site is as dry as possible, as well as to ensure proper hemostasis.

All anatomical surfaces where adhesions are to be prevented are carefully covered with the gel.

Preparing the syringe with gel for work:

  1. Observing the rules of asepsis, open the package and introduce the syringe with the application catheter into the sterile area of the operating unit.
  2. By turning the syringe body, remove the rubber cap from the luer lock.
  3. Connect the application catheter in the sheath to the luer lock of the syringe and turn it clockwise until it locks securely. The cover is removed just before the application of the gel.

The gel remaining in the syringe must be disposed of, like the used syringe and catheter.

Side effects

In some cases, the use of Antiadgezin may be accompanied by inflammation, pain syndrome, the development of infections and reactions of individual intolerance.

Overdose

No information available.

Reviews about Antiadgezin

On specialized sites, there are practically no reviews about Antiadgezin, which is probably due to the specifics of its use (during the operation). Nevertheless, in rare reports, patients write that they did not have complications in the form of adhesion formation after surgical intervention using the gel. They believe that the antiadhesion gel Antiadgezin provided them with a positive result.

The price of Antiadgezin in pharmacies
