Fractional rejuvenation
Fractional skin rejuvenation, or laser photothermolysis, is a new cosmetic procedure that is as effective as surgical skin tightening, and significantly surpasses it in safety. The method is based on the ability of the laser to stimulate the regenerative processes in the skin, enhance the production of collagen and elastin, due to which the skin is tightened, becomes smooth, elastic and radiant.
What Happens During Fractional Rejuvenation? The process is somewhat schematic as follows: a laser beam acts on the surface layers of the skin. In the place of its impact, the upper layer of the epidermis evaporates - photothermolysis occurs. The laser beam in this technique acts fractionally, which means that the skin is exposed to a point laser effect, and the areas where the epidermis evaporates alternate in a checkerboard pattern with the areas that remain intact. This makes the procedure gentle and the effect mild. At the same time, deep regeneration is triggered and in those areas that the laser has bypassed, since they are involved in the zone of controlled damage, a kind of domino effect is triggered.
In practice, fractional rejuvenation appears to be a painless procedure that lasts about 20-30 minutes (for the face, since the laser photothermolysis procedure can be applied to the skin on any other parts of the body). A session can be carried out once a month, the course is selected individually, depending on the condition of the skin, but, as a rule, it consists of 3-4 procedures. Immediately after the procedure, the patient may feel a slight burning sensation in the treated area, the skin in this area looks reddened. It does not last long, several hours, then passes without a trace. To relieve unpleasant symptoms, the doctor usually prescribes drugs containing pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), which also stimulates tissue regeneration. These are medicines such as Bepanten or Panthenol.
In the interval between fractional rejuvenation procedures, you can use cosmetics (preferably moisturizing), including decorative ones. In fact, there are only a few restrictions at this time: do not expose the skin to the aggressive effects of ultraviolet radiation, that is, do not go to the solarium and protect the face or body from the sun, do not apply strong substances to the skin (whitening masks, peeling products, do not swim in water oversaturated chlorine), do not visit the sauna or bath.
The effect of fractional rejuvenation is noticeable after the first procedure. A course of three to four procedures allows you to "lose" from five to ten years of visual age. Thus, we can safely say that fractional rejuvenation is today one of the most effective anti-aging techniques of hardware cosmetology.
