Echinacea VILAR is an immunostimulating herbal preparation.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - juice: reddish brown, transparent, with a specific odor; the presence of sediment in the juice is allowed (in a cardboard box, instructions for use of Echinacea VILAR, 1 bottle of orange or brown glass containing 50 ml of juice, complete with a plastic spoon or measuring cup).
Composition for 1 liter of juice:
- active substance: fresh echinacea purpurea herb - 1710 g;
- auxiliary component: ethanol (ethyl alcohol 95%) - 270 g.
Pharmacological properties
Echinacea VILAR has anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory (stimulates the functional activity of phagocytic cells and antibody production, significantly increases the proliferative activity of lymphocytes) and capillary-protective effect. Increases nonspecific resistance of the body, including immunity to pathogens of herpes and influenza.
By promoting the stimulation of bone marrow hematopoiesis, the drug promotes an increase in the number of leukocytes and cells of the reticuloendothelial system of the spleen. By activating predominantly cellular immunity, it enhances T-helper activity and antibody production, accelerates the transformation of B-lymphocytes into plasma cells, increases the production of interleukin-1 by macrophages, promotes the release of cytokines, stimulates the chemotaxis of granulocytes and the phagocytic activity of macrophages.
Indications for use
Echinacea juice VILAR as an immunostimulating agent is prescribed to children over 12 years old and adults in order to enhance the nonspecific immune response against the background of exacerbations of chronic diseases of the urinary tract and respiratory pathologies, often repeated acute inflammatory processes and other diseases accompanied by a decrease in the immune status of the body.
Contraindications
Absolute:
- bronchial asthma;
- autoimmune diseases;
- HIV infection, acquired immune deficiency syndrome, multiple sclerosis, collagenosis, leukemia, tuberculosis (progressive systemic processes);
- age up to 12 years;
- established hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Relative contraindications for the use of Echinacea VILAR (use requires special care and careful medical supervision):
- liver disease;
- diabetes;
- alcoholism;
- brain diseases;
- traumatic brain injury;
- pregnancy;
- lactation period.
Echinacea VILAR, instructions for use: method and dosage
Echinacea VILAR juice is intended for oral administration.
A single dose is taken after meals with a little water. In the first 3-5 days (acute period of the disease), it is recommended to apply from 30 to 40 drops 3-4 times a day. Then the dose is reduced to 20-30 drops 3-4 times a day, the juice intake is continued for 14 days. The maximum single dose is 60 drops (3 ml), the daily dose is 240 drops (12 ml).
The duration of therapy is set individually, depending on the patient's condition and, if necessary, in consultation with the doctor, can be increased to 1–1.5 months.
Side effects
During the period of use of Echinacea VILAR, allergic reactions may develop; the appearance of hyperemia and chills is sometimes noted.
Overdose
Acute intoxication and overdose with Echinacea VILAR are unlikely. To date, no such cases have been reported.

Echinacea VILAR can be prescribed in combination with antibacterial agents and other antimicrobial drugs. It cannot be used for 72 hours after the end of therapy with cephalosporin derivatives (moxalate, cefoperazone, cefmenoxime, cefotetan, cefamandol).
The drug is incompatible with immunosuppressants.
