The active substance of the drug is pancreatin, its content in 1 capsule is 96.6-123.9 mg, which corresponds to the activity:

  • Lipase - 10,000 U Ph. Eur.;
  • Amylase - not less than 7200 U Ph. Eur.;
  • Proteases - not less than 400 U Ph. Eur.

Additional substances: dry mass (polysorbate 80 and sodium lauryl sulfate), dispersion 30%, copolymer of methacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate (1: 1), simethicone emulsion 20%, talc, triethyl citrate.

The composition of the capsule shell: sodium lauryl sulfate, gelatin and titanium dioxide (E171).

Indications for use

Panzinorm 10,000 is a remedy for the treatment of insufficiency of the exocrine function of the pancreas.

Also, the drug can be used in patients with normal function of the gastrointestinal tract in order to improve the digestion of food (in case of inaccuracies in nutrition).

Contraindications

Absolute:

  • Children under 3 years old;
  • Cystic fibrosis in children under 15 years of age;
  • Exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis;
  • Acute pancreatitis;
  • Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug or pork protein.

With care: pregnancy, lactation.

Method of administration and dosage

Panzinorm 10,000 should be taken orally with meals or a light snack: swallow the capsules whole without chewing, and drink plenty of liquid.

The doctor determines the dosage and duration of treatment individually for each patient, taking into account his age, the degree of pancreatic insufficiency and the diet.

At the beginning of treatment, adults are prescribed 1-2 capsules during each main meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner), as well as 1 capsule during each snack. If the clinical effect of the drug is insufficient, the dose is gradually increased. The effective daily dose is individual and can vary from 4 to 15 capsules.

For children over 3 years old, the drug is used only as directed by a doctor. The usual dosage is 1 to 2 capsules 3 times a day (with meals or a light snack).

The duration of treatment, depending on the indications, can be either in the form of a single prima dose, or it can be several days (with inaccuracies in the diet), months or even years (when carrying out replacement therapy).

Side effects

Panzinorm 10,000 is generally well tolerated and rarely causes side effects.

Possible adverse reactions:

  • From the digestive system: when taking the drug in high doses - irritation of the oral mucosa, diarrhea / constipation, nausea, vomiting, perianal irritation, abdominal pain (including intestinal colic); if the required dose of pancreatin is exceeded (more than 10,000 IU Ph. Eur. lipase per kg of body weight) in patients with cystic fibrosis - strictures (fibrous colonopathy) in the ileocecal region and in the ascending colon;
  • Allergic reactions: airway obstruction, hypersensitivity reactions, including pruritus, rash, skin flushing;
  • Others: folate deficiency, hyperuricemia, hyperuricosuria.

special instructions

Panzinorm 10,000 should be used in the lowest effective dose.

In cystic fibrosis, the dose of the drug should correspond to the amount of enzymes required for fat absorption. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the quality and quantity of food consumed.

If symptoms develop, on the basis of which one can suspect the development of intestinal obstruction, an examination should be carried out to exclude fibrous colonopathy.

If long-term treatment is necessary, it is recommended to prescribe iron supplements at the same time.

Cases of a negative effect of pancreatin on the speed of reactions and the ability to increase concentration are not known.

Drug interactions

Taken in high doses, pancreatin reduces the absorption of iron and folic acid, therefore, the level of folate in the blood should be monitored and, if necessary, additional folic acid preparations should be prescribed. The same applies to cases of simultaneous use of bicarbonates or cimetidine.

Pancreatin may reduce the effects of miglitol and acarbose.

The capsule shell of Panzinorm 10,000 dissolves in the duodenum. At a low pH in the duodenum, pancreatin is not released. With the simultaneous use of proton pump inhibitors, bicarbonates or blockers of histamine H 2 receptors, the effectiveness of pancreatin increases, which makes it possible to reduce the dose of Panzinorm 10000.
