Tonginal is a complex homeopathic medicine used for hypotension.
Release form and composition
Dosage form Tonginal - homeopathic drops: a clear, colorless liquid with a weak camphor odor (20, 50 or 100 ml in dark glass vials equipped with a dropper, in a cardboard box, 1 bottle; 20 or 50 ml in dropper bottles, in a pack made of cardboard 1 dropper bottle).
100 ml drops contain:
- active ingredients: camphor (camphora) D2 - 2 ml, tobacco (tabacum) D6 - 10 ml, hellebore (veratrum) D6 - 10 ml, nitroglycerin (glonoinum) D12 - 10 ml, hydrocyanic acid (acidum hydrocyanicum) D12 - 10 ml;
- auxiliary component: ethanol 43% - by weight.

Pharmacodynamics
The complex homeopathic preparation Tonginal, thanks to carefully selected active ingredients, helps to increase the tone of the sympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) in patients with vagotonia and restore the disturbed balance of the activity of the parasympathetic and sympathetic divisions of the ANS. In addition, the drug has vasoactive efficacy: by restoring the tone of the cerebral vessels and normalizing the venous outflow, it improves cerebral circulation, as well as blood circulation. Tonginal improves the activity of the myocardium and metabolic processes in it, normalizes low blood pressure, reduces the excitability of the vestibular apparatus and the frequency / intensity of vegetative crises, seizures, mostly of a vagoinsular nature. Increasing resistance to physical and psycho-emotional stress,the drug thereby improves the adaptive capabilities of patients suffering from vestibular or autonomic disorders, arterial hypotension.
Indications for use
Tonginal is recommended for use in the complex therapy of the following neurocirculatory pathologies:
- vegetative-vascular dystonia of the hypotonic type;
- diencephalic syndrome;
- paroxysmal conditions.
Contraindications
- children under 7 years of age;
- individual hypersensitivity to any of the components of Tonginal.
Instructions for the use of Tonginal: method and dosage
Homeopathic drops Tonginal are taken orally in pure form or diluted in 1 tablespoon of water, half an hour before or one hour after a meal. It is recommended to hold the drug in the mouth for 20-30 seconds before swallowing.
Recommended single doses depending on the patient's age:
- children 7–12 years old: 5 drops, 3 times a day;
- children over 12 years old and adult patients: 10 drops, 3 times a day.
The course of treatment is from 2 to 3 months, if necessary, repeated therapy is allowed.
At the onset of the disease and if there is a need for rapid relief of symptoms, it is allowed to take the drug every half hour or hour: for children 7–12 years old - in a dose of 3-5 drops, for children over 12 years old and adult patients - 8–10 drops. This dosage is adhered to until the condition improves, while the frequency of administration should not be more than 8 times a day, after which they switch to taking Tonginal 3 times a day.
Side effects
A negative side effect is extremely rare and is expressed in increased salivation.

Overdose
To date, no cases of overdose have been reported.

Since natural herbal ingredients are included in the composition of Tonginal drops, slight turbidity is possible during storage, as well as a weakening of the taste and smell of the drug, which does not reduce its effectiveness.
Patients with alcohol dependence are prohibited from using the drug due to the presence of ethyl alcohol in its composition in an amount of about 0.4 g / ml.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
According to the instructions, Tonginal can be used only as directed by a doctor during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Pediatric use
In pediatric practice, due to the lack of clinical observation data, the use of Tonginal is contraindicated for the treatment of children under the age of 7 years.
