Increasing the dose, frequency of administration or duration of use is possible only as directed by the attending physician.

Side effects

When used in recommended doses, Solpadein is generally well tolerated.

In some cases, allergic reactions such as rash, urticaria, bronchospasm or angioedema are possible.

Side effects that paracetamol can cause:

  • hematopoietic system: agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, methemoglobinemia, hemolytic anemia;
  • liver and kidneys: impaired hepatic and renal function (with long-term treatment in high doses).

Side effects caffeine can cause:

  • cardiovascular system: arrhythmia, tachycardia, increased blood pressure, palpitations;
  • central nervous system: headache, anxiety, agitation.

Side effects that codeine can cause:

  • cardiovascular system: tachycardia, palpitations;
  • central nervous system: drowsiness, dizziness, sleep disturbance;
  • digestive system: vomiting, nausea, gastralgia, constipation.

special instructions

During the period of taking Solpadein, excessive consumption of coffee and tea is not recommended, as this can lead to sleep disturbances, cardiac arrhythmias, tachycardia and increased agitation.

With long-term treatment in high doses, it is necessary to control the peripheral blood picture.

While taking the drug, you should refrain from taking alcoholic beverages.

Solpadein contains codeine, therefore, with prolonged uncontrolled use, drug dependence and addiction may develop (weakening of the analgesic effect).

In the event of side effects from the digestive system, rash, itching, ulcers on the oral mucosa, hematomas, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, increased bleeding, the drug should be immediately canceled and consult your doctor.

While taking Solpadein, patients should be especially careful when driving and performing other potentially dangerous work.

Drug interactions

With the simultaneous use of Solpadein with rifampicin, salicylamide, barbiturates, antiepileptic drugs and other inducers of microsomal oxidation, toxic metabolites of paracetamol are formed, which negatively affect liver function.

When taken together with ethanol, the risk of hepatotoxic effects increases; with metoclopramide - the absorption of paracetamol is accelerated; with ergotamine - the absorption of ergotamine is enhanced; with inhibitors of microsomal oxidation (including cimetidine) - the risk of paracetamol hepatotoxicity decreases; with chloramphenicol - the half-life of chloramphenicol increases by 5 times.

With repeated administration, Solpadein may enhance the effect of indirect anticoagulants and increase the risk of bleeding.

Codeine is able to potentiate the effect of drugs that depress the central nervous system (including alcohol), but since its amount in the drug is insignificant, this effect is insignificant.

Terms and conditions of storage

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C. Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life: tablets and capsules - 5 years; soluble tablets - 4 years.
