Ocusalin is a medical device in the form of a hypertonic solution used in ophthalmology to wash the eyes, reduce and relieve corneal puffiness, remove foreign bodies from the eye, and also to prevent the development of inflammatory processes.
Release form and composition
The drug is produced in the form of an eye wash solution: a colorless, odorless, transparent liquid (1 or 2 ml in sterile polymer packaging - unidose, in a cardboard box of 10, 20, 30 or 60 pcs. And instructions for the use of Okusalin).
1 ml of solution contains: sodium chloride - 27–33 mg, water for injection - up to 1 ml.

Ocusalin is a sterile solution of sodium chloride (hypertonic solution of NaCl 3%).
The tool has a cleansing effect, soothes, relieves discomfort, counteracts the development of inflammation in the event of foreign particles entering the eye; helps to reduce and eliminate edema of the conjunctival cornea, and also provides an acceleration of the terms of its rehabilitation in the early postoperative period, which leads to a decrease in patients' complaints of discomfort, a feeling of a foreign body in the eye, blurred vision and lacrimation in this period.
Due to its antimicrobial activity, the solution can be used in cases of infectious and inflammatory lesions of the conjunctiva and cornea. The composition of the preparation does not include preservatives, therefore, when using it, there is no side toxic effect on the eye tissue.
Ocusalin can also be prescribed as an adjunct therapy for eye allergies, since it removes allergens present on the surface of the eye.

Contraindications

The solution contained in 1 unidose (1 or 2 ml) is designed for one procedure. The unused drug must be disposed of immediately after use.
Before instilling the drug, you need to separate 1 unidose from the rest and, by turning the lid, open it. Then, with your head thrown back, with a slight pressure on the unidose, the solution should be injected into the eye by instillation. It is recommended to flush for at least 2 minutes. If necessary, in order to completely remove foreign particles and remove unpleasant sensations, you can repeat the procedure using the contents of the next unit dose. After completing the administration of the solution, the used unidose should be discarded.
