Condilin is an external remedy for the removal of genital warts.

pharmachologic effect

The active substance of Kondilin is a podophyllotoxin of plant origin, which, when applied to condylomas, cauterizes and causes the death of their cells and mummifies.

Release form

Kondilin is released as a 0.5% solution. The solution bottle comes with a plastic applicator.

Kondilin's analogs: Podofyllotoxin, Kondiline nikomed, Vartek - preparations with the same active substance.

Indications for Kondilin's use

The solution is used for cauterization and removal of Condylomata acuminata - genital warts.

Kondilin's instruction: method of application

It is better to apply the solution to genital warts using the special applicator attached to the drug: it is moistened in the solution, filling the loop with liquid. With this loop, Kondilin is applied directly to the genital warts.

It is recommended to apply the solution for three days - 2 r / day, making a break of 12 hours between treatments. Repeat the treatment after 4 days. In total, no more than 5 weeks are given for the removal of genital warts.

Before applying the drug, skin areas with warts must be washed with soapy water and dried.

The drug irritates healthy skin and mucous membranes, therefore, apply Condilin carefully and allow it to dry so that the solution does not get on tissues close to the condyloma. There are reviews about Kondilin, confirming that irritation can be avoided by treating the skin around genital warts, petroleum jelly, neutral creams, zinc ointment.

In most cases, both sexual partners are examined and treated. Condoms should be used during sexual intercourse therapy.

Side effects of Kondilin

There are reviews about Kondilina, after the application of which, redness, pain or an ulcer appeared on the surface of the warts. More often, such symptoms are observed on the 2-3 day of therapy.

If the drug is used to treat large genital warts on the penis, there may be swelling or inflammation of the head, foreskin. In this case, the patient is recommended to treat the site of inflammation with ointment with glucocorticosteroids.

In addition, after using Kondilin, an allergy may develop.

If too much solution has been applied to the genital warts, wash it off with soapy water.

If the drug gets inside, the patient should wash the stomach, keep the electrolyte balance, blood picture, liver condition under control.

Contraindications

According to the instructions, Kondilin can not be prescribed to children under 12 liters, lactating, pregnant women, with hypersensitivity, in combination with other drugs containing podophyllotoxin.
