Ismigen is a combined immunostimulating drug of bacterial origin.
Release form and composition
Ismigen's dosage form - sublingual tablets: light cream with brown blotches, flat-cylindrical, with a risk, with a weak specific mint aroma (10 pcs. In blisters, in a cardboard box 1 or 3 packs).
Composition of 1 tablet:
- active substance: lysates of bacteria, including Streptococcus viridans, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumoniae (types - TY3 / EQ14, TY1 / EQ11, TY2 / EQ22, TY8 / EQ23, TY5 / EQ15, TY47 / EQ24ella), KY5 / EQ15, TY47 / EQ24ella pneumoniae, Neisseria catarrhalis, Haemophilus influenzae b - 7 mg;
- auxiliary components: mint flavor - 0.8 mg; glycine - 43 mg (as part of the bacterial lysate); calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate - 35 mg; microcrystalline cellulose - 150 mg; magnesium stearate - 3 mg; colloidal silicon dioxide - 10 mg; ammonium glycyrrhizinate - 1.2 mg.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Ismigen is a combined immunostimulating drug of bacterial origin for sublingual (sublingual) administration, which is a multivalent antigenic complex, which includes lysates of bacteria - the most common causative agents of respiratory infections. It has a specific vaccination and non-specific immunostimulating effect.
The drug acts on various links of the immune system. Stimulates systemic immune, humoral immune and local cellular responses. Activates phagocytosis, increases the number of immunocompetent cells and increases the content of lysozyme in saliva.
Increases the metabolic and functional activity of macrophages (including alveolar) and polymorphonuclear leukocytes; stimulates the secretion of prostaglandin E2 by macrophage-monocytic cells; reduces the concentration of serum IgE; activates natural killers; inhibits the synthesis of IL-4, IL-12; stimulates the release of anti-inflammatory cytokines; increases the concentration of secretory immunoglobulin IgA in saliva, serum immunoglobulins IgA, IgG, IgM.
As a result of the application of Ismigen, the severity, frequency and duration of acute infections of the respiratory tract are reduced; relief and leveling of concomitant symptoms (cough, fever, shortness of breath) occurs; the need for antibacterial and anti-inflammatory treatment is reduced. In the presence of chronic diseases of the respiratory tract, the drug prevents the appearance of an exacerbation.
The lysates included in the Ismigen tablets are obtained by mechanical action.
Indications for use
- infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract in acute and subacute course: otitis media, bronchitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, rhinitis, laryngitis, sinusitis, including complications after influenza (along with other drugs);
- chronic bronchitis, recurrent upper / lower respiratory tract infections (prevention of exacerbations).
Contraindications
- age up to 3 years;
- pregnancy and lactation;
- individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Instructions for the use of Ismigen: method and dosage
The tablets should be taken sublingually on an empty stomach (until completely dissolved under the tongue; do not swallow, chew, or dissolve).
The daily dose is 1 tablet.
Recommended application scheme:
- subacute / acute infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract - at least 10 days (until the symptoms of the disease disappear);
- recurrent infectious processes of the upper and lower respiratory tract, exacerbation of chronic respiratory diseases (prevention) - 3 cycles of 30 days, including 10 days of taking Ismigen and a break of 20 days; preventive courses can be carried out no more than 1–2 times a year.
If you accidentally skip the next dose, you should not double the next one.
Side effects
Adverse reactions develop in very rare cases (<0.01%):
- skin: folliculitis, impetiginous dermatitis, urticaria;
- others: inflammation of the salivary gland, acute laryngitis, rhinitis.
Overdose
There is no information on overdose cases.

For children 3–6 years old, for complete dissolution of the tablet in the oral cavity, control must be established daily.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
The drug is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation.
Pediatric use
Ismigen is not assigned to children under 3 years old.

There is no information on possible drug interactions with other substances / drugs.
According to the instructions, Ismigen can be used in combination with other drugs prescribed for the treatment of respiratory diseases in acute and chronic course.
