Release form and composition

Dosage form - dragees: two types, of which red dragees contain 11 vitamins, blue dragees - 8 minerals (10 dragees (5 pcs. Red and blue) in blisters, 4 blisters in a cardboard box).

Content of active substances in 1 red dragee:

• Ascorbic acid C - 60 mg;
• Nicotinamide PP - 13 mg;
• Alpha-tocopherol acetate E - 10 mg;

• Retinol palmitate A - 2.94 mg;
• Pyridoxine hydrochloride B6 - 2 mg;
• Riboflavin B2 - 1.2 mg;

• Folic acid B9 - 0.4 mg;
• Colecalciferol D3 - 0.2 mg;
• Cyanocobalamin B12 0.1% in mannitol - 0.003 mg.

Indications for use

The use of Duovit is shown as a prophylactic drug with an increased body need for vitamins and minerals:

• The period of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
• Large physical activity, including active sports;

Contraindications

• Age up to 10 years;
• Glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, hereditary glucose and fructose intolerance, sucrase-isomaltase deficiency;
• Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Method of administration and dosage

Dragee should be taken in the morning, after meals, inside, without chewing and drinking a little water.

For patients aged 10 years and older, Duovit is prescribed 1 tablet of different colors per day, the course of admission is 20 days.

A repeated prophylactic course can be carried out on the recommendation of the attending physician or after a 1-3 month break.

Allergic reactions may develop against the background of the use of pills, including hypersensitivity reactions with an asthmatic component.

Patients with diabetes should take into account that the sugar content in 1 tablet is 0.8 g, in a daily dose - 1.6 g.

The cause of hypersensitivity reactions with the asthmatic component can be azo dyes E110 and E124; it is recommended to take the drug with caution in patients with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid.

Red dragees in large doses can cause diarrhea, as they contain mannitol.

The recommended daily dose must not be exceeded; if you accidentally take a high dose of pills, you should immediately consult your doctor.

Duovit is not recommended to be taken simultaneously with other products that include vitamins and minerals.

Since the daily dose of two pills contains 1.083 g of sucrose, 0.331 g of lactose, 0.237 g of sorbitol, 0.27 g of glucose, the drug is not recommended for patients with hereditary fructose and glucose intolerance, with glucose or galactose malabsorption syndrome and sucrase-isomaltase deficiency.

Drug interactions

If it is necessary to use it simultaneously with cholestyramine or antacids containing magnesium, aluminum, calcium, a 3 hour break between doses should be observed, as they reduce the absorption of iron.

The content of iron and calcium in the preparation slows down the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics and fluoroquinolone derivatives in the intestine.

Vitamin C increases the activity of sulfonamides and the development of side effects, including the appearance of crystals in the urine.

When combined with diuretics from the thiazide group, the risk of developing hypercalcemia increases.
