Diclogen plus is a combined non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for topical use, has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-exudative and local distracting effects.

Release form and composition

The drug is produced in the form of a gel for external use: a translucent mass with a characteristic odor, from almost white to pale yellow (30 g or 50 g each in aluminum tubes, 1 tube in a cardboard box and instructions for using Diclogen plus).

1 g of gel contains:

  • active ingredients: diclofenac diethylamine - 11.6 mg (equivalent to 10 mg of diclofenac sodium); methyl salicylate - 100 mg; racementol - 50 mg;
  • auxiliary components: benzyl alcohol, hydrogenated castor oil, flax seed oil, polysorbate-60, carbomer 940, butylhydroxyanisole, butylhydroxytoluene, trolamine, isopropanol, propylene glycol, purified water.

Diclogen plus is a combined NSAID for external use, has a local analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative effect.

The mechanism of action of the drug is due to the ability of diclofenac and methyl salicylate to suppress the synthesis of prostaglandins. Local application of these active ingredients helps to reduce pain and inflammation in the joints, eliminate their stiffness and swelling, and increase the range of motion.

Racementol (menthol), irritating the nerve endings, causes a sensation of coolness at the site of application of the gel, has a local distracting and mild analgesic effect.

Pharmacokinetics

When applied to the skin of the body, diclofenac and methyl salicylate are absorbed, penetrating into the subcutaneous tissue, muscle tissue and the joint capsule.

Indications for use

The use of Diclogen plus is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of the following diseases of the musculoskeletal system:

  • ankylosing spondylitis;
  • rheumatoid arthritis;
  • osteoarthritis of the peripheral joints and spine;
  • psoriatic arthritis;
  • muscle pains of non-rheumatic and rheumatic etiology;
  • rheumatic lesions of soft tissues;
  • traumatic injuries of soft tissues.

Contraindications

Absolute:

  • an indication of a history of rhinitis, an attack of bronchial obstruction, urticaria after taking other NSAIDs or acetylsalicylic acid;
  • violation of the integrity of the skin at the site of the intended application;
  • III trimester of pregnancy;
  • breast-feeding;
  • age up to 6 years;
  • hypersensitivity to other NSAIDs and acetylsalicylic acid;
  • individual intolerance to the components of the drug.

Diclogen plus should be used with caution during the period of exacerbation of hepatic porphyria, bronchial asthma, erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, chronic heart failure, severe liver and / or kidney dysfunction, in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, in old age.

Diclogen plus gel is applied externally, applying a thin layer of the preparation over the inflammation focus and rubbing it lightly into the skin.

Recommended dosage:

  • adults and children over 12 years old: 2-4 g of gel 3-4 times a day. A single dose of the drug depends on the size of the painful area;
  • children aged 6–12 years: up to 2 g of gel 2 times a day.
