Detralex is a drug with venotonic properties. It is used to treat venous insufficiency of the lower extremities and acute hemorrhoids.

Detralex is a venotonic drug that reduces venous congestion and venous distension. Increases venous tone. Effective in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency of the lower extremities. In proctology, it is used in the treatment of acute and chronic hemorrhoids.
Release form
Detralex is produced in the form of oval tablets of a heterogeneous structure of pink-orange color, film-coated. Each tablet contains 500 mg of purified micronized flavonoid fraction, incl. 90% diosmin and 10% flavonoids.
Excipients - microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin, talc, magnesium stearate, sodium carboxymethyl starch and purified water. There are 15 tablets in a blister, 2 or 4 blisters in a carton box.
Indications for the use of Detralex
Detralex is used as a symptomatic therapy of venous-lymphatic insufficiency in:
- "Morning fatigue" of the legs;
- Feeling of heaviness in the legs;
- Trophic ulcers;
- Pain;
- Cramps in the calf muscles;
- Swelling of the legs and feet.
According to reviews, Detralex is most effective when combined with a healthy, balanced diet. You should also shorten your time in the sun. It is better to replace periods of long standing on the legs with walking with the use of special stockings that improve blood circulation.
In the symptomatic treatment of acute hemorrhoids, the use of Detralex does not replace the specific treatment of other disorders. In cases where the symptoms do not disappear within the recommended terms of therapy, you should consult a doctor to review the prescribed therapy and conduct a subsequent proctological examination.
Detralex instructions for use
According to the instructions Detralex has an optimal effect when taking 2 tablets. It is prescribed for oral administration during meals.
The daily dose for venous lymphatic insufficiency is 2 tablets. It is advisable to split the dose into two doses. Take the first pill in the middle of the day, the second in the evening. The dosage regimen of Detralex can be changed after 7 days for a single use of the drug with meals. Detralex is used in the same way in the treatment of chronic hemorrhoids.
In acute hemorrhoids, the dose is much higher - up to 6 tablets per day. The dose is divided into 3 tablets in the morning and in the evening for the first 4 days. For the next 3 days, the daily dose is 4 tablets - 2 tablets are taken in the morning and evening.
The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the symptoms and the severity of the disease. The average duration of treatment is 3 months.
Detralex is also used as prevention of thrombosis.
According to reviews, Detralex rarely causes dermatological reactions (such as hives, rash or itching) or disorders of the central nervous system (general malaise, headache or dizziness). Disorders of the digestive system are more common - nausea, diarrhea or vomiting.
Overdose cases are not described in the Detralex instructions, as well as there is no data on interaction with other drugs. The drug does not affect psychomotor reactions and the ability to drive vehicles.
When using Detralex during pregnancy, there are no data on side effects. However, doctors prescribe it with caution in the third trimester of pregnancy. It is not recommended to use the drug during lactation.

The closest analogue of Detralex in terms of the active ingredient is Venarus, which contains 450 mg of diosmin and 50 mg of hesperidin.
