Dosage form Glycine forte - buccal (sublingual) tablets: almost white or white, biconvex round with a cross-shaped line; a slight marbling of the surface is permissible (in a cardboard box 1 can of 10, 20, 30, 50, 60, or 100 tablets, or 1-3, 5, 6, 9, 10 blisters of 10 or 25 tablets, or 1-3 contour cell packaging of 30 tablets).

Glycine is a nonessential amino acid, a central inhibitory neurotransmitter. Has sedative, antidepressant, as well as glycinergic, GABA-ergic, alpha1-adrenergic blocking, antioxidant and antitoxic effects.

The main properties of glycine:

  • regulation of the activity of glutamate (NMDA) receptors, thereby reducing psycho-emotional stress, conflict and aggressiveness;
  • improvement of metabolic processes in brain tissues;
  • a decrease in the severity of the toxic effect of ethanol on the central nervous system, vegetative-vascular disorders (including in the climacteric period) and cerebral disorders in traumatic brain injury and ischemic stroke;

Pharmacokinetics

Glycine easily penetrates into most tissues and biological fluids of the body, including the brain.

It rapidly breaks down to carbon dioxide and water in the liver. Does not cumulate.

Indications for use

  • deviant behavior of children and adolescents;
  • decreased mental performance;
  • stressful conditions (including psychoemotional stress);
  • organic and functional diseases of the nervous system, which are accompanied by emotional instability, increased excitability, sleep disturbance and decreased mental performance: neurosis-like conditions / neuroses, the consequences of traumatic brain injuries and neuroinfections, perinatal and other forms of encephalopathies (including alcoholic genesis);
  • ischemic stroke;
  • reduced mental performance and psychoemotional stress during remission in patients with encephalopathy, organic lesions of the central and peripheral nervous system (in narcology).

Contraindications

  • the period of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • individual intolerance to the components of the drug.

Instructions for the use of Glycine forte: method and dosage

Glycine forte is intended for sublingual or buccal administration.

Recommended dosage regimen:

  • psychoemotional stress, decreased attention, memory, mental performance, mental retardation, deviant behavior: 2-3 times a day, 125 mg for 14-30 days;
  • functional and organic lesions of the nervous system, accompanied by increased irritability, sleep disturbance, and emotional lability: children up to 3 years - 2-3 times a day for 1 / 4 tablets for 7-14 days followed by 7-10 days in the same dose once a day; children from 3 years old and adults - 2-3 times a day, 125 mg for 7-14 days (the course may be extended up to 30 days); if there is evidence after 30 days, repeated admission is possible;
  • sleep disorders: for 1 / 4 - 1 / 2 tablets (depending on age) directly / 20 minutes before bedtime;
  • ischemic cerebral stroke: during the first 3–6 hours from the development of a stroke and for 1–5 days, 1000 mg, then for 30 days, three times a day, 125–250 mg;
  • in drug addiction practice: 2-3 times a day, 125 mg for 14-30 days. If necessary, repeated courses are held 4–6 times a year.

For small children, Glycine Forte can be crushed and given in powder form.

Side effects
