Gepargin is a biologically active food supplement (BAA), a source of betaine and arginine amino acids; has a tonic, anti-asthenic, detoxifying and hepatoprotective effect.
Release form and composition
Oral solution (in glass vials, 10 ml).
Active substances in 10 ml of solution:
- neutral arginine citrate - 1000 mg;
- betaine hydrochloride - 500 mg;
- betaine - 500 mg.
Auxiliary components: sucrose, citric acid, benzoic acid, grape flavor, purified water.
Component properties
Arginine is a conditionally essential amino acid that is involved in urea metabolism and protein biosynthesis. In case of violations of protein metabolism, arising under the influence of unfavorable factors (poisoning, viral infections, chronic diseases, etc.), general intoxication of the body occurs. These toxins include ammonia and various nitrogenous compounds that are formed during amino acid metabolism and circulate in the blood, creating a constant source of intoxication in the body. It mainly affects the central nervous system, which is the most sensitive system of the body. This can lead to the development of asthenic syndrome.
Arginine enhances metabolism in neurons, improves cognitive functions (memory, attention, memorization), maintains optimal nitrogen balance in the body, excretes end nitrogen, and reduces the formation of free radicals harmful to liver cells. This enhances the detoxification function of the liver (antitoxic effect) and has a pronounced anti-asthenic effect. For the synthesis of nitric oxide, arginine is a precursor (donor); it is involved in the regulation of a number of physiological processes (dilation of blood vessels, immune response and transmission of nerve impulses).
Arginine has a hepatoprotective effect, which is manifested as an improvement in microcirculation in the liver, saturation of it with oxygen, normalization of hepatoportal hemodynamics and intracellular metabolism in hepatocytes, stimulation of their activity, reduction of hypoxia and inflammation with subsequent regeneration of hepatocytes.
Betaine is a lipotropic substance that is directly involved in the biosynthesis of phospholipids (phosphatidylcholine), triglyceride transport, oxidation and fat utilization. It prevents and reduces fatty degeneration of the liver, maintains intracellular water balance. Under cellular stress (viral infections, asthenia, intoxication), the cell, losing water, decreases in volume. In the body, ionic sodium-potassium pumps begin to work, which increase the level of electrolyte in cells (mainly potassium), which requires a lot of energy. Betaine is quickly absorbed by the cell without disrupting its enzymatic activity and normalizes potassium levels. Thus, betaine has metabolic, membrane stabilizing and hepatoprotective effects.
Citrate ions contained in Hepargin contribute to the digestion process with increased acidity of gastric juice, a decrease in acidosis and dyspeptic manifestations (nausea, a feeling of heaviness in the stomach, flatulence), which are often observed in liver diseases.
Indications for use
Hepargin is recommended to be taken as a source of betaine and arginine amino acids.
A dietary supplement can be prescribed for the purpose of correcting dietary meals in the following cases:
- conditions associated with violations of protein metabolism (viral infections, asthenia, stress, trauma, starvation, etc.), especially in persons who are exposed to the negative influence of environmental factors, as well as for general strengthening of the body (as an anti-asthenic agent);
- viral hepatitis, hepatosis, steatosis, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, cirrhosis, hepatic encephalopathy (as a hepatoprotective agent in order to maintain normal hepatic function and promote its improvement in case of disorders);
- negative effects of alcohol, drugs, industrial and other toxic agents (as an antitoxic agent to eliminate the consequences).
Contraindications
- severe renal failure;
- During pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- individual intolerance to the components of the supplement.
Recommendations for use
Gepargin is taken orally after a meal, 1-3 bottles per day (in the absence of other doctor's prescriptions).
A single dose must be diluted in 100 ml of water before taking.
The duration of the course is from 3 to 4 weeks. Longer use of Gepargin must be agreed with your doctor.
