Bronchitusen Vramed is a combined preparation with bronchodilating and antitussive effects.
Release form and composition
Bronchitusen Vramed is produced in the form of a syrup: a viscous transparent or slightly opalescent liquid, from light brown or yellow-green to light yellow, with a smell characteristic of basil oil (125 g each in glass or polyethylene terephthalate bottles of dark color, in a cardboard box 1 bottle complete with a measuring cup or spoon).
5 ml of syrup contains:
- active ingredients: ephedrine hydrochloride - 0.004 g, glaucine hydrobromide - 0.005 g;
- auxiliary components: ethanol 96%, sucrose, basil oil, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, citric acid anhydride, polysorbate 80, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, purified water.
Indications for use
The use of syrup is indicated in the complex therapy of the following respiratory diseases occurring with dry cough:
- bronchial asthma;
- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;
- pneumonia;
- acute inflammatory pathologies of the upper respiratory tract;
- chronic or acute form of tracheobronchitis and bronchitis;
- whooping cough;
- bronchiectasis.
Contraindications
- cardiac ischemia;
- heart rhythm disturbances;
- coronary sclerosis;
- severe heart disease of organic genesis;
- arterial hypertension;
- prostate adenoma;
- thyrotoxicosis;
- diabetes;
- pheochromocytoma;
- angle-closure glaucoma;

Method of administration and dosage
The syrup is taken orally, during or immediately after a meal, mixed with a small amount of liquid.
The recommended dosage regimen depending on the age of the patients:
- children aged 3–10 years: 5 ml (1 measuring spoon) 3 times a day;
- children over 10 years old: 10 ml 3 times a day;
- adults: 10 ml 3-4 times a day.
Side effects
- nervous system: insomnia, headache, agitation (mental and motor), dizziness, hand tremors; in children - drowsiness;
- cardiovascular system: increased blood pressure, palpitations, tachycardia;
- digestive system: loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation;
- endocrine system: dysmenorrhea, increased libido;
- dermatological reactions: increased sweating, skin rash;
- urinary system: difficulty urinating; with prostatic hypertrophy - urinary retention;
