Release form and composition
The drug is produced in the form of sublingual tablets: white or yellowish-white, flat-cylindrical shape (30 pieces in a blister strip, 1 package in a cardboard box).

Pharmacodynamics
Biotredin is a tissue metabolism regulator that reduces cravings for alcohol, has a therapeutic effect in alcohol withdrawal symptoms and improves mental performance. In the presence of pyridoxine (vitamin B 6) L-threonine decomposes into acetaldehyde and the amino acid glycine. These substances activate the processes of respiration and the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in cells, and also enhance the processes of inhibition and, at the same time, redox reactions. As a result, Biotredin is able to increase intellectual performance, reduce psycho-emotional stress, improve long-term and short-term memory, increase the concentration of endogenous acetaldehyde and bring it to normal values, which can reduce the severity of symptoms of alcohol withdrawal symptoms and cravings for alcohol.
The effect of the drug is manifested 10–20 minutes after placing the tablet under the tongue.
Pharmacokinetics
Pyridoxine and L-threonine are metabolized 100% to form end products. Their accumulation in the body is absent.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Biotredin is prescribed if the patient has a pathological craving for alcohol, which is accompanied by a decrease in mood, irritability, hunger, and internal discomfort. The drug is used for chronic alcoholism, in a state of withdrawal syndrome (against the background of a sharp refusal from alcohol).
In addition, the drug is prescribed for adults, adolescents and children with reduced concentration to enhance mental performance.
Contraindications
- state of alcoholic intoxication;
- hypersensitivity to vitamin B 6;
- simultaneous administration of drugs that depress the central nervous system.
Instructions for the use of Biotredin: method and dosage
The Biotredin tablet should be kept under the tongue until it is completely dissolved.
For the treatment of chronic alcoholism, 1-3 tablets of the drug are prescribed 2-3 times a day, the duration of the course is 4-5 days.
In case of withdrawal symptoms, Biotredin tablets are used: on the first day of therapy - 1-4 pcs. 3-4 times a day (no more than 16 tablets per day), then - 1-2 pcs. 2-3 times a day for 3-4 weeks.
A good effect is given by the combined use of the drug with Glycine - 10-15 minutes before taking Biotredin, a tablet of Glycine (100 mg) should be dissolved under the tongue.
During remission, 2-3 tablets of the drug are taken on an empty stomach (to detect hidden cravings for alcohol). When the corresponding symptoms appear (hyperemia, dizziness, sweating), it is prescribed to take Biotredin 1-2 tablets 2-3 times a day, the duration of the course is 5-10 days. The drug is recommended to be taken together with Glycine.
To increase mental performance and attention, the drug is prescribed for children, adolescents and adults, 1 tablet 2-3 times a day, the duration of treatment is 3-10 days.
Side effects
During treatment, there may be increased sweating, dizziness, and in case of pyridoxine intolerance, allergic reactions.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
Separate studies involving pregnant women and lactating mothers have not been conducted. It is not recommended to use Biotredin in this category of patients.

Biotredin is incompatible with taking antipsychotic drugs, barbiturates, anxiolytics, antidepressants. It weakens the effect of the use of any drugs that contribute to the depression of the central nervous system.
