Rutin is an angioprotective phytopreparation; biologically active additive (BAA) that improves the absorption of vitamin C, strengthens capillaries, increases blood circulation, reduces swelling, has a powerful antioxidant effect on the body.

Release form and composition

Dosage forms of Rutin:

  • tablets 20 mg (10 pcs. in blisters, 3 packages in a cardboard box);
  • tablets 50 mg (100 pcs. in cans);
  • tablets 500 mg (50, 100, 250 pcs. in cans);
  • capsules 500 mg (120 pcs. in cans);
  • powder: fine-crystalline, greenish-yellow, tasteless and odorless, almost insoluble in water, dissolves in weak solutions of caustic alkalis (50, 100, 500, 1000 g each in two-layer polyethylene bags).

The active substance of all forms of the drug is rutoside, which is contained in the leaves of odorous rue (Ruta graveolens L.), green buckwheat mass, buds and flowers of Japanese sophora (Sophora japonica) of the leguminosae family.

Indications for use

  • hypo- and avitaminosis of vitamin P due to a deficiency or complete absence of its entry into the body - for prevention and treatment;
  • venous insufficiency of the lower extremities, accompanied by pain and edema, caused, among other things, by thrombosis during pregnancy (from the second trimester);
  • varicose dermatitis and trophic ulcers of the leg, arising against the background of varicose veins;
  • lymphedema (lymphostasis);
  • hemorrhoids;
  • removal of varicose veins, sclerotherapy of veins - as maintenance therapy after interventions;
  • diabetic retinopathy (damage to the vessels of the retina of the eyeball) - as part of complex treatment;
  • radiation therapy - for the prevention of reactions from the mucous membranes and skin.

Contraindications

Rutin is contraindicated for use in the first trimester of pregnancy and in the case of individual hypersensitivity to rutoside.

Method of administration and dosage

The drug Rutin is intended for oral administration, tablets and capsules are taken with water.

The recommended dosage regimen depending on the disease / condition:

  • chronic venous insufficiency: the initial dose is 300 mg 3-4 times a day or 500 mg 2 times a day, the daily dose is 1000-1200 mg; a clinically significant therapeutic effect develops within 2 weeks, after which the therapy is continued at the same dose, or reduced to the minimum maintenance dose - 600 mg per day; the achieved effect after stopping the drug intake persists for 4 weeks;
  • diabetic retinopathy: 1000-2000 mg per day;
  • prevention of dermatological reactions to radiation therapy - 500 mg 2 times a day throughout the course of radiation (until the symptoms disappear);
  • lymphedema (lymphostasis): 3000 mg per day (1000 mg 3 times a day).

As a dietary supplement, 1 capsule of Rutin is recommended. 2 times a day, tablets 50 mg - 1-2 pcs. daily, tablets 500 mg - 1 pc. 2 times a day, during meals, unless otherwise directed by the attending physician.

Side effects

The following side effects are possible: hypersensitivity reactions (for example, skin rash), nausea, heartburn, diarrhea, flushing, headache.

In the II-III trimesters of pregnancy, during breastfeeding, if it is necessary to jointly use other drugs and / or the presence of concomitant diseases, before taking any dietary supplements, you should consult a doctor.
