Release form and composition
Redecyl is available in the form of an ointment for external use: a homogeneous mass from light yellow to white (10 g, 20 g or 35 g each in aluminum tubes, in a cardboard box 1 tube).
10 g of the ointment contains:
- active ingredients: retinol palmitate (vitamin A) (in terms of 100% retinol palmitate) - 0.05 g [corresponds to the content in 1 g of the substance: retinol palmitate - 1.7 million ME (international unit), butylhydroxyanisole - 0.009 g, butylhydroxytoluene - 0.009 g; or retinol palmitate - 1.7 million IU, butylhydroxytoluene - 0.017 g, sunflower oil - up to 1 g; or retinol palmitate - 1.7 million IU, butylhydroxytoluene - 0.0055 g, butylhydroxyanisole - 0.0055 g], dioxomethyltetrahydropyrimidine (methyluracil) - 0.3 g;
- auxiliary components: glycerol (glycerin), alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E), vaseline oil, emulsion wax, 95% ethyl alcohol (ethanol), purified water.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Redecyl is a combined drug, the activity of which is aimed at improving the regeneration of skin tissues. The external action of the active components of the ointment on the retinol-binding receptors of epithelial cells promotes their division and reproduction. Potentiates the restoration of damaged tissues. It prevents the development of hyperkeratosis, normalizing the processes of death and keratinization of the skin.
Pharmacokinetics
Redecyl easily overcomes the surface layer of the epidermis. After applying the ointment to the skin, the maximum concentration of methyluracil and retinol palmitate in the blood occurs after 3-4 hours and lasts for 12 hours. The half-life is 5.5 hours.
Indications for use
- seborrheic dermatitis;
- ulcers, cracks, erosion, frostbite, skin burns;
- ichthyosis;
- psoriasis;
- hyperkeratosis;
- pyoderma;
- neurodermatitis;
- atopic dermatitis;
- eczema;
- skin atrophy after the use of glucocorticosteroids for a long period.
Contraindications
- acute period of inflammatory skin disease;
- hypervitaminosis A;
- individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
The use of Redecyl is contraindicated for the treatment of large areas during the first trimester of pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
Instructions for use of Redecyl: method and dosage
Redecyl ointment is applied externally by applying a thin layer to areas of skin lesions on the body.
Recommended frequency of procedures: 2 times a day (morning and evening).
The duration of the course of treatment is from 28 to 84 days.
Side effects
- in some cases: increased itching, in places where the ointment is applied - redness of the skin;
- possible: the development of allergic reactions.
Overdose
Overdose symptoms have not been established.

Usually Redecyl is well tolerated. In case of exacerbation of sensations of itching or redness of the skin at the sites of application of the ointment, it is recommended to temporarily stop using the drug. After removing the acute process, treatment can be continued.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
The use of Redecyl ointment for the treatment of large areas during the first trimester of pregnancy and during breastfeeding is contraindicated.
During breastfeeding, the ointment should not be applied to the skin of the mammary glands.
Drug interactions
According to the instructions, Redecyl is incompatible with tetracycline antibacterial agents. Due to the risk of developing hypervitaminosis A, the simultaneous use of ointment with drugs containing retinoids and vitamin A is contraindicated.
