Biozyme is an enzyme preparation used to improve digestion.
Release form and composition
Biozyme is produced in the following forms:
- Enteric-coated tablets: round, pink (10 tablets in a contour package made of aluminum foil; 60 tablets in plastic bottles or glass jars);
- Capsules (90 pcs. In plastic bottles).
In 1 tablet:
- Active ingredient: pancreatin - 100 mg;
- Excipients: lactose, water-soluble methylcellulose MC-16, calcium stearate.
In 1 capsule:
- Protease - 150 mg;
- Bromelain - 500 mg;
- Papain - 10 mg;
- Lipase - 10 mg;
- Cellulase - 50 mg;
- Amylase - 10 mg;
- Licorice root powder - 100 mg;
- Ginger rhizome powder - 200 mg.
Indications for use
The active ingredients of Biozyme have amylolytic, proteolytic and lipolytic effects. A drug:
- Replenishes the deficiency of pancreatic enzymes;
- Normalizes blood viscosity and microcirculation;
- Improves the supply of nutrients to tissues;
- Breaks down proteins and fats to facilitate digestion.
In addition, Biozyme has anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects, fibrinolytic activity, contributing to the resorption of hematomas and edema, as well as the elimination of toxins.
The advantage of Biozyme in capsules in comparison with other enzymatic preparations is ginger, which is part of its composition, which has a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect, without causing side effects, and licorice, which has anti-inflammatory and antihistamine effects.
Biozyme is prescribed as replacement therapy for exocrine pancreatic insufficiency in chronic pancreatitis, pancreatectomy, dyspepsia, Remheld syndrome, cystic fibrosis, flatulence, diarrhea of non-infectious origin and in conditions after irradiation.
Biozyme is also prescribed:
- In violation of the assimilation of food (in conditions after resection of the stomach and small intestine);
- To improve digestion with normal function of the gastrointestinal tract in the case of eating fatty foods, large amounts of food, with irregular nutrition;
- To improve digestion with a sedentary lifestyle, impaired chewing function, prolonged immobilization.
Biozyme is used in preparation for X-ray examination and ultrasound of the abdominal organs.
As part of the combined treatment, Biozyme capsules are effective in the presence of the following diseases:
- Post-thrombotic syndrome, thrombophlebitis, obliterating endarteritis, secondary lymphatic edema, vasculitis, lymphadenitis;
- Cystitis, inflammation of the genitourinary tract and prostatitis;
- Extra-articular rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis;
- Sinusitis, inflammation of the upper and lower respiratory tract, bronchitis and bronchopneumonia;
- Mastopathy, adnexitis, chronic gynecological diseases.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the components included in the dietary supplement;
- Acute pancreatitis;
- Exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis.

Method of administration and dosage
Biozyme tablets are taken with meals or immediately after, without chewing and drinking water. A single dosage for adults is 2-4 tablets, the frequency of taking the drug is 3-4 times a day.
For children, Biozyme can only be taken as directed by a doctor. A single dosage is determined by age:
- 6-7 years old - 1 tablet;
- 8-9 years old - 1-2 tablets;
- 10-14 years old - 2 tablets.
As an anti-inflammatory agent, Biozyme is taken 2-3 capsules several times a day, maximum 8 capsules per day.
When using Biozyme to improve digestion and to reduce weight, it is recommended to take 1 capsule daily with or after meals.
Duration of admission - 2 weeks, if necessary, it is possible to repeat the course after a 2-week break.
Side effects
Biozyme does not cause undesirable effects, in rare cases minor allergic reactions, constipation or diarrhea, nausea are possible.
With prolonged use of the drug in high doses, hyperuricosuria and hyperuricemia may develop. Constipation is most common in children.
