Sulfodecortem is a drug for external use with anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, keratolytic and antiallergic action. It has anti-mite and glucocorticoid activity.
Release form and composition
Sulfodecortem is available in the form of an ointment for external use: light yellow with a grayish tint (25 g each in polyethylene laminate or aluminum tubes, one tube in a cardboard box).
Composition for 1 g of ointment:
- active ingredients: sulfur (ground sulfur, precipitated sulfur) - 100 mg, hydrocortisone acetate - 4 mg;
- auxiliary components: anhydrous lanolin, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, medical vaseline, pentaerythrityl dioleate, stearic acid, purified water.
Indications for use
- rosacea (rosacea);
- scabies complicated by dermatitis;
- seborrhea;
- psoriasis of the scalp (stationary and progressive stages).
Contraindications
Absolute:
- acne vulgaris;
- fungal, viral and bacterial skin diseases;
- violation of the integrity of the integument of the skin (wounds, ulcers);
- skin tumors;
- lupus;
- perioral dermatitis;
- syphilitic skin lesions;
- period after vaccination;
- increased individual sensitivity to drug components.
Relative (Sulfodecortem is used with caution):
- tuberculosis (systemic disease);
- diabetes;
- children under 12 years old;
- period of pregnancy;
- breastfeeding period.
Method of administration and dosage
Sulfodecortem ointment is intended for external use.
The drug is applied to the affected areas of the skin with light massaging movements. Frequency rate of application - 2 times a day. A small amount of ointment is sufficient for one application. As the desired effect is achieved, Sulfodecortem is used less frequently - 1-3 times a week. The duration of therapy is 1 to 3 weeks.
With a steady course of the disease, it is allowed to use an ointment with an occlusive dressing.
For psoriasis of the scalp, wash your hair with a neutral agent just before the procedure, and then apply Sulfodecortem ointment to the scalp.
The maximum weekly dose of the drug is no more than 30-60 g.
Side effects
During treatment with Sulfodecortem, burning, itching, irritation, and allergic contact dermatitis may occur.
With prolonged use of the ointment and / or application of the drug to large areas of the skin, systemic side reactions typical of glucocorticosteroids are possible.
The likelihood of both local and systemic side effects increases with the use of an ointment under an occlusive dressing.
special instructions
Do not apply the ointment to large areas of the skin. The drug should not be applied to the area around the eyes.
In children under 2 years of age, Sulfodecortem is used strictly as directed by the attending physician.

The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and other potentially dangerous mechanisms.
Drug interactions
When used externally, Sulfodecortem, like its individual components, does not interact with other drugs.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 20 ° C. Keep out of the reach of children.
The shelf life is 3 years.
