Venitan is a drug with venotonic, local decongestant and anti-inflammatory action.

Release form and composition

Venitan is produced in the form of a gel for external use (colorless or slightly opalescent, transparent, homogeneous), 50 g each in aluminum tubes.

The composition of 1 g of gel contains the active substance - escin in the amount of 10 mg.

Auxiliary components of the preparation: methylhydroxybenzoate (methyl parahydroxybenzoate) - 2 mg; sodium hydroxide - 0.97 mg; carbopol 934R (carboxypolymethylene) - 3 mg; poloxamer (lutrol F) - 200 mg; propylene glycol - 100 mg; purified water - 684.03 mg.

Indications for use

  • Venous insufficiency (swelling of the legs, night cramps in the calf muscles, pain and heaviness in the legs, itching);
  • Infiltrates after injections and post-traumatic hematomas (to accelerate resorption);
  • Feeling of heaviness in the legs when standing for a long time or during pregnancy;

Contraindications

Method of administration and dosage

Venitan is used externally.

A thin layer of gel should be applied to and around the affected area and gently rubbed in. Frequency rate of application - 2-3 times a day.

Patients with varicose veins of the lower extremities are also advised to wear special tightening tights or apply an elastic bandage.
