Aleve is a synthetic medicine with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects.

Release form and composition

Indications for use

Aleve, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, is prescribed for degenerative and inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system: gouty, chronic, juvenile and rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis.

The use of Aliva is effective for pain arising from myalgia, neuralgia, tendinitis, arthralgia, radiculitis, cancer, adnexitis, algodismenorrhea, as well as toothache, headache, post-traumatic, postoperative, postpartum pain.

Also, the instructions to Aleve indicate that the drug can be prescribed for inflammation of the ENT organs of an infectious nature, occurring with severe pain syndrome (otitis media, tonsillitis, pharyngitis) and to eliminate fever that occurs with colds and infectious diseases.

Contraindications

The use of Aliva is prohibited in acute erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, inhibition of the hematopoietic process in the bone marrow, renal and hepatic insufficiency, during lactation, pregnancy, with bronchial "aspirin" asthma, occurring simultaneously with chronic polyposis of the nose and sinuses against the background of intolerance to pyrazolone drugs series ("aspirin" triad).

The medication is contraindicated in children under one year old.

Aliv is prescribed with caution to patients under 16 years of age and against the background of chronic heart failure.

Method of administration and dosage

In the acute course of the disease, Aleve is prescribed 0.5-0.75 g twice a day. The maximum allowable daily dosage is 1.75 g.

For maintenance treatment, 500 mg of Aliva is prescribed per day, which are divided into 2 doses.

To stop an acute attack of gout, first take 825 mg of the medication, then every 8 hours, 275 mg.

For painful menstruation (algodismenorrhea), an initial dose of 500 mg should be taken, then 275 mg every 6-8 hours for 3-4 days.

For the treatment of migraines, the recommended dosage of Aliva is 500 mg.

Side effects

  • From the respiratory system - eosinophilic pneumonia;
  • From the digestive tract - erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, nausea, vomiting, epigastric discomfort, liver dysfunction;
  • On the part of the urinary organs - impaired renal function;
  • From the side of the nervous system - hearing impairment, drowsiness, slowing down the speed of psychomotor reactions, headache;
  • allergic reactions - skin rash, urticaria, Quincke's edema.

In case of an overdose of the drug, nausea, drowsiness, heartburn, and vomiting occur. An overdose of Aliva is treated, according to the instructions, by gastric lavage followed by the intake of activated carbon (0.5 g / kg). Dialysis is considered ineffective.
