October and November are the windiest and wettest months of the year. We do not part with our handkerchiefs, we do not let go of hot tea, we put on a hood even in dry weather. According to statistics, in the fall, about 70% of Russians are faced with diseases of the ear, throat and nose, 90% of chronic ENT diseases are exacerbated.

Angina, otitis media, tonsillitis, sinusitis in cold weather occurs in both children and adults. Diseases are known to everyone, and it seems to many that you can cope with the disease on your own. However, self-medication in most cases leads to negative consequences - the disease goes into a chronic stage, gives a complication, and often affects the work of vital organs. Doctors are sure that there are no unimportant health problems. Listen to yourself and your children's complaints and do not disregard any manifestation of the disease.

One of the most common problems of young patients, otolaryngologists call a chronic disease of the lymphoid tissue of the nasopharynx. It occurs in most cases in children between three and ten years of age. Babies, like adolescents, are very rarely diagnosed. At home, it is difficult to identify this disease and determine its nature. Only an otolaryngologist can diagnose and prescribe adequate treatment.

Adenoiditis (inflammation of the adenoids) is a disease "without age", everyone faces it. Its signs are easy to recognize: difficulty in nasal breathing, runny nose with profuse, often purulent discharge, morning cough and night snoring, hearing impairment, speech distortion, headache. The manifestations of the disease in adult patients and children are practically the same. But complications, especially for young patients, can become critical. Untreated adenoids in the cold season lead to laryngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia and even bronchial asthma. The inability to breathe through the nose for a long time actually means oxygen starvation, which in turn affects the functioning of internal organs, including the brain.

An integrated approach to treatment

“The approach to the treatment of adenoids must be comprehensive. Moreover, all family members need to check their health, since chronic inflammatory diseases of the ENT organs in parents often become the source of infections in children,”says Eduard Maslov, head of the Clinic for ENT Diseases for Children and Adults at MEDSI. “First-degree adenoids respond well to classical drug therapy. If the second, third degree of the disease is already recorded, surgical techniques are used. Our Clinic has all the possibilities for a comprehensive modern approach to the treatment of ENT diseases. In a comfortable hospital for children and adults, we perform such adenomotomy, adenomotonsillotomy, septoplasty and rhinoplasty, we operate on sinusitis and other sinusitis, cysts in the sinuses, polyps in the nasal cavity. The manipulations are carried out under general and local anesthesia,”says Eduard Maslov.

The Clinic's doctor supervises the patient from the first visit to complete recovery, including diagnostic examinations and observation in the postoperative period. This is especially important for the prevention of recurrence of diseases of the ENT organs.

Pediatricians, allergists, immunologists, and dentists also receive appointments at the Clinic. Both children and adults can undergo a comprehensive examination, pass all types of tests, do radiography, endoscopy, audiometry.
