Formation of drug addiction
Drug addiction is the main reason that we regard drug addiction as a difficult, difficult to treat disease. What is the reason for the formation of drug addiction, and is it possible to resist it? Drug addiction is called a social disease, and for good reason. The leading role in the emergence of addiction is played by the society that surrounds a person and his relationship with him. A negative attitude towards oneself, a misunderstanding of the value of one's life, a desire to oppose oneself to society and the rejection of its rules - these are the factors pushing a person onto a pernicious path.
Not a single addict, having tried a drug for the first time, did not expect to turn into a suffering substance dependent on a daily dose. The desire to try once or twice, to support the company and no more, that is the reason for the debut. Why is it that, as a result, a person dies from a severe form of drug addiction?
This comes from the fact that physiology comes into play. In a somewhat simplified way, the formation of drug addiction can be represented as follows: trying and getting a high lead to a desire to experience this state again. Then this method begins to be used as an anti-stress one, since there is enough stress, and especially for people prone to drug addiction. All this time, there is a gradual addiction, which a person does not know about in the early stages. The next stage is, in fact, dependence.
The body produces substances that contribute to a good mood and a cheerful state of mind, dopamines. When the drug is introduced from the outside, its own production of dopamines is suppressed, and subsequently stops altogether. Without these substances, a person is depressed and gloomy, he falls into a black depression, up to the loss of control over himself. The dose is no longer necessary for the high, but simply to maintain a normal mental and physical condition. That's it, drug addiction is formed. Then there is an increase in dosage and, in parallel, the destruction of the body.
This terrible chain must be broken as early as possible. Lack of the usual dose causes withdrawal symptoms - the condition that we described above as black depression. This is not entirely accurate, since in addition to mental pain, a person also experiences severe physical pain, which does not have a specific localization. Everything and nothing hurts, this is how drug addicts describe it. There is always an opportunity to remove withdrawal symptoms at home, but this can only resolve the issue with an acute condition. Getting out of drug addiction actually takes much longer. Depression and pain will continue, albeit less acute, but the main thing is that mental dependence and that root cause that pushed the person to drugs will remain. This is the hardest part of the road, but nevertheless surmountable. Drug addiction can be defeated, although the predisposition to it will remain for life.
