Etacizin is a class 1C antiarrhythmic drug. Most reviews of Etacizin mention high pharmacotherapeutic efficacy and clinical safety of the drug.

Amiocordin, Amiodarone, Asparkam, Arrhythmil, Cordaron, Multak, Panangin, Ritmokard, Propanorm, Thiodarone are Etacizin analogues, included with it in the same pharmacological group.

Composition and form of release

According to the instructions, Etatsizin is available in the form of round tablets (0.05 g each), as well as in the form of a 2.5% solution for injection (2 ml ampoules).

Each tablet contains 0.05 g of carboethoxyaminodiethylaminopropionyl phenothiazine hydrochloride, as well as auxiliary components (methylcellulose, potato starch, sucrose, calcium stearate).

Pharmacological action of Etacizin

Etacizin slightly reduces the frequency of sinus rhythm, slows down atrioventricular, atrial, synotrial and intraventricular conduction. The drug has a moderate coronary dilatory, antispasmodic, anticholinergic and pronounced antiarrhythmic effect.

The action of Etacizin and Etacizin analogues helps to improve the functional state of the heart region with insufficient blood circulation. Etacizin slows down the rate of rise of the action potential front, limiting the conductivity of sodium channels on the outer and inner sides of the cardiomyocyte membrane. In addition, the drug inhibits calcium channels, providing a moderate vagolytic effect. All this slows down the process of conduction of excitation and contributes to the suppression of foci of ectopic automatism in the myocardium of the ventricles and atria.

Etatsizin is found in the blood 30-60 minutes after administration. The maximum plasma concentration is reached after two to three hours. The bioavailability of Etacizin is 40%. The drug is metabolized in the liver and excreted by the kidneys in the form of metabolites. According to the instructions Etatsizin freely penetrates into breast milk, as well as through the placental barrier.

Indications for the use of Etacizin

When the effect is achieved, they switch to maintenance treatment in individually selected doses.

Intravenous Etatsizin is administered at a dose of 0.25-1 mg / kg. The contents of the ampoule of the drug are diluted with isotonic sodium chloride solution.
