Hilomax-Komod ophthalmic moisturizing solution
Hilomax-Komod ophthalmic moisturizing solution

Khilomax-Komod is a keratoprotective and moisturizing ophthalmic agent.

Release form and composition

Dosage form - sterile aqueous solution [10 ml in original plastic containers (Komod system), 1 container in a cardboard box].

Composition of 1 ml solution:

  • active substance: sodium hyaluronate (sodium salt of hyaluronic acid) - 2 mg;
  • auxiliary components: sorbitol, sodium citrate dihydrate, anhydrous citric acid, water.

Pharmacological properties

Hilomax-Komod ophthalmic moisturizing solution is a sterile isotonic aqueous solution of sodium hyaluronate 0.2%, containing no preservatives.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance, a physiological polysaccharide compound that is found in various fluids and tissues of the human body, including the tissues of the eye. A special physicochemical property of its molecules is the pronounced ability to bind water molecules. An aqueous solution of sodium hyaluronate has an optimal viscosity and is characterized by high adhesive properties in relation to the anterior surface of the eye, due to which the drug forms a uniform pre-corneal tear film on the surface of the cornea, which persists for a long time and is not washed off when blinking, while it does not reduce visual acuity. Thus, Hilomax-Chest of drawers for a long time protects the eyes from the sensation of dryness, irritation and discomfort that often occur when wearing contact lenses and contact with the environment. Sufficient and constant hydration of the eye surface contributes to the normal physiological flow and accelerates the healing of wounds and injuries after surgery or trauma.

Thanks to Hilomax-Komod eye drops, wearing contact lenses (both soft and hard) becomes more comfortable. In this case, the drug is not deposited on the surface of the lenses.

The solution is filled into the original Komod container, which is a complex system of tanks and valves that prevents air from entering from the outside and ensures the extraction of drops of the same size, regardless of the degree of force applied to the container. In addition, the metal parts and valves of the container in contact with the solution are partially covered with a thin layer of silver, which, along with the absolute tightness of the system, provides additional sterility of the preparation, which does not contain preservatives that have an undesirable effect on the eye tissue. Thus, the good tolerance of the Chilomax-Komod solution is ensured even with prolonged use.

Indications for use

  • a pronounced and prolonged sensation of dry eyes, a feeling of a foreign body and / or burning sensation in the eyes, including with intense visual stress or exposure to climatic factors (for intensive moisturizing, lubrication and protection of the front surface of the eye - the conjunctiva and cornea);
  • damage and trauma to the cornea, conditions after ophthalmic surgery (for intensive hydration, lubrication and acceleration of healing of the anterior surface of the eye);
  • discomfort when wearing soft and hard contact lenses.

Contraindications

According to the instructions, Khilomax-Komod is contraindicated in the presence of hypersensitivity to any of the components present in the solution.

Instructions for use of Khilomax-Komod: method and dosage

The drug is dripped into the conjunctival sac of each eye, 1 drop 3 times a day, if necessary, the solution can be instilled more often. The frequency is set individually, taking into account the indications and recommendations of the doctor (ophthalmologist or contact lens specialist). Instillations more than 10 times a day are possible only after consulting a doctor.

There are no restrictions on the duration of the use of Hilomax-Komod eye drops. However, if the patient's condition does not improve within a few days, an ophthalmologist should be consulted.

One container of Hilomax-Komod contains 10 ml of solution, which corresponds to approximately 300 drops.

Method of using the drug:

  1. Remove the cap from the container. Before the first use, turn the bottle upside down with the dropper and press down on its base several times so that the first drop appears at the tip of the dropper - this means that the system is ready for use.
  2. Tilt your head back a little. Slightly retract the lower eyelid with your finger and, holding the container down with the dropper, quickly and vigorously pressing on its base, drip 1 drop into the conjunctival sac.
  3. Close your eyes slowly so that the liquid is evenly distributed over the surface of the eye.
  4. Close the container with a cap.

For patients who wear contact lenses, Hilomax-Chest of drawers can be dripped into the conjunctival sac without removing the lenses.

Side effects

Not fixed.

Overdose

Overdose does not occur.

special instructions

Each container is designed for individual use.

When instilling the drug, care should be taken to avoid contact of the dropper tip with the surface of the eye and skin.

Due to the special design of the valves in the "Komod" system, the droplet size and its extraction speed are the same regardless of the force of pressure on the base of the container.

After the first opening of the bottle, the shelf life of the solution is limited, and therefore a special column is provided at the bottom of the container in which the patient should note the date of the first instillation.

After using the solution, the container should be thrown into the trash can.

Drug interactions

If necessary, the simultaneous use of other ophthalmic drugs between instillations, it is recommended to observe an interval of at least 30 minutes. In this case, eye drops should be used after the Khilomax-Komod solution.
