Tempalgin is an analgesic non-narcotic combined drug with anti-inflammatory and anxiolytic effects.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - coated tablets: round, biconvex, green (10 pcs. In a blister, 2 or 10 blisters in a cardboard box or 30 blisters in a box).
1 tablet contains:
- active ingredients: sodium metamizole - 0.5 g, tempidone (triacetonamine-4-toluenesulfonate) - 0.02 g;
- auxiliary components: wheat starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, kollidon K25 (crospovidone), titanium dioxide, castor oil, polyethylene glycol 400, dibutyl phthalate, glycerol, acetone (eudragit L-12.5), talc, green dye.
Indications for use
- combination therapy of mild pain of visceral origin, including intestinal, renal or hepatic colic (in combination with antispasmodics);
- pain syndrome of mild or moderate severity (especially with increased nervous excitability), including toothache, headache, migraine, neuralgia, myalgia, arthralgia, radicular syndrome, algomenorrhea;
- adjuvant therapy of pain syndrome after surgical and diagnostic interventions;
- increase in body temperature with infectious and inflammatory (including colds) diseases.
Contraindications
- arterial hypotension [systolic level of blood pressure (BP) below 100 mm Hg];
- chronic heart failure;
- oppression of hematopoiesis: leukopenia, granulocytopenia, agranulocytosis, infectious or cytostatic neutropenia;
- severe hepatic and / or renal failure;
- deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase;
- aspirin asthma;
- the period of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- age up to 14 years;
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
With caution, Tempalgin should be prescribed for bronchial asthma, pyelonephritis and glomerulonephritis (including history), moderate hepatic or renal failure, a tendency to develop arterial hypotension, after prolonged alcohol abuse.
Method of administration and dosage
The tablets are taken orally, swallowed whole and washed down with water, during or after meals.
The dose depends on the individual susceptibility to the drug and the severity of the pain syndrome.
Recommended dosage:
- adults: 1 pc. 1-3 times a day. A single dose should not exceed 1 piece, the maximum daily dose should not be more than 4 pieces;
- children over 15 years old: 1 pc. per day, if it is necessary to achieve a therapeutic effect, it is allowed to take the maximum permissible daily dose - 2 pcs.
The duration of treatment is 3-5 days.
To relieve pain during dental interventions, take 1 Tempalgin tablet 0.5 hours before the procedure.
Elderly patients do not need dose reduction.
With a moderate or severe degree of liver dysfunction and functional kidney damage in adult patients, it is recommended to use a daily dose of the drug in an amount of no more than two tablets.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage or therapy period without consulting your doctor.
Side effects
- on the part of the cardiovascular system: cyanosis, increase or decrease in blood pressure, tachycardia;
- from the digestive system: rarely - dry mouth, burning sensation in the epigastric region, cholestasis, increased activity of hepatic enzymes, hyperbilirubinemia, jaundice;
- from the hematopoietic system: leukopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia;
- from the nervous system: dizziness, headache; in some cases - hallucinations;
- allergic reactions: bronchospasm, rash, pruritus, urticaria (including mucous membranes of the nasopharynx and conjunctiva), erythema multiforme (including Stevens-Johnson syndrome), Quincke's edema, toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's syndrome), anaphylactic shock;
- from the urinary system: urine staining red; while taking high doses - functional kidney disorder (interstitial nephritis, anuria, proteinuria, oliguria).
special instructions
During the period of Tempalgin's use, colloidal blood substitutes, X-ray contrast agents and penicillin should not be prescribed.
Drinking alcohol is contraindicated.
With concomitant cytostatic therapy, the patient should be under regular medical supervision.
Due to the risk of agranulocytosis, immediate discontinuation of the drug is required when conditions of unknown origin appear: chills, fever, sore throat, stomatitis, difficulty swallowing, the development of proctitis or vaginitis.
If it is necessary to take the drug for a long time (more than 7 days), the patient should ensure regular monitoring of the functional state of the liver and the blood picture.
It is strictly forbidden to take Tempalgin tablets for acute abdominal pain until their clinical cause is clarified.
Since the drug has an anxiolytic effect, patients should refrain from driving vehicles and mechanisms during the period of treatment.
Drug interactions
With the simultaneous use of Tempalgin:
- phenothiazine derivatives, including chlorpromazine, increase the risk of severe hyperthermia;
- ethanol enhances its effect;
- sedatives, tranquilizers increase the analgesic effect of the drug;
- thiamazole, cytostatics increase the likelihood of developing leukopenia;
- glucocorticosteroids, oral hypoglycemic drugs, indomethacin, indirect anticoagulants are displaced from the connection with the protein and increase their effect;
- inducers of microsomal liver enzymes, including phenylbutazone, barbiturates reduce the effect of sodium metamizole;
- cyclosporine decreases its concentration in blood plasma;
- tricyclic antidepressants, other non-opioid analgesics, oral contraceptives, allopurinol can cause mutual intensification of toxic effects;
- codeine, propranolol, blockers of histamine H 2 receptors enhance the effect of the drug.
