Surgam is a systemic drug with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects.

Release form and composition

  • powder for preparation of solution for injection (200 mg in vials, 1 vial complete with solvent in the package);
  • rectal suppositories (6 pcs. in blisters, 1 blister in a box);
  • tablets (10 pcs. in blisters, 4 blisters in a box).

The active substance is tiaprofenic acid:

  • 1 bottle of powder - 200 mg;
  • 1 suppository - 150 or 300 mg;
  • 1 tablet - 300 mg.

The composition of the solvent attached to the powder (in ampoules of 3 ml): benzyl alcohol, water for injection.

Indications for use

  • ankylosing spondylitis;
  • lower back pain;
  • osteoarthritis;
  • radicular syndrome;
  • rheumatoid arthritis;
  • diseases and injuries of periarticular soft tissues, including humeroscapular periarthritis, capsulitis, tendinitis, bursitis, epicondylitis, fibrositis;
  • orthopedic surgery (postoperative pain and inflammation).

Contraindications

  • severe renal and / or liver dysfunction;
  • bronchial asthma due to the use of drugs that suppress the synthesis of prostaglandins;
  • peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenal ulcer, including in the anamnesis;
  • children under 3 years old;
  • hypersensitivity to the drug.

Method of administration and dosage

Powder for preparation of solution for injection: the prepared solution is injected intramuscularly, the first dose with severe pain syndrome can be 400 mg, then 200 mg is injected every 8 hours for 1-2 days, then 200 mg per day for 4-6 days. If the treatment needs to be continued, the patient is transferred to Surgam in the form of tablets.

Suppositories: administered rectally, adults - 1 suppository 300 mg 2 times a day (morning and evening) or once at night, children - 1 suppository 150 mg 2–3 times a day. The duration of treatment is 3-5 days.

Tablets: taken orally with meals, adults - 300 mg 2 times a day, children - 10 mg / kg / day in 2-3 doses.

Side effects

  • from the nervous system: dizziness, tinnitus;
  • from the genitourinary system: cystitis, hematuria, dysuria;
  • on the part of the cardiovascular system: hypotension;
  • from the respiratory system: bronchospasm;
  • from the digestive system: epigastric pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, gastrointestinal bleeding, erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, changes in liver function tests;
  • allergic and dermatological reactions: itching, rash, photosensitivity;
  • others: water and sodium retention, thrombocytopenia.

special instructions

It is not recommended to prescribe the drug in the first and third trimesters of pregnancy.

Drug interactions

Surgam, with simultaneous use, reduces the effect of diuretics, phenytoin, vitamin K antagonists, as well as hypoglycemic agents - sulfonylurea derivatives.

Terms and conditions of storage

Store out of the reach of children, protected from light, at a temperature of 8 to 25 ºС.

Shelf life is 2 years.
