Release form and composition
Sebozol is available in three dosage forms:
- ointment for external use: color - white with a pinkish or yellowish tint or white, smell - weak specific (15, 30 or 50 g in aluminum tubes, 1 tube in a cardboard box);
- ointment for local use: color - from white with a yellowish tinge to white, odor - weak specific (10, 15 or 20 g in polyethylene bottles, 1 bottle in a cardboard box complete with a spray);
- shampoo: homogeneous, viscous, color - from red-orange to bright pink (100 ml each in polymer or polyethylene bottles, 1 bottle in a cardboard box; 5 ml each in pads made of packaging material, 5 pads in a cardboard box) …
Composition of 100 mg ointment for external use:
- active substance: ketoconazole - 2 mg;
- additional components: cetylstearyl alcohols - 2 mg; emulsion wax - 4 mg; tween-80 (polysorbate) - 2 mg; distilled monoglycerides - 4 mg; glycerol (glycerin) - 5 mg; propylene glycol - 2 mg; butylhydroxytoluene (dibunol) - 0.1 mg; castor oil - 7 mg; nipazole (propyl parahydroxybenzoate) - 0.05 mg; nipagin (methyl parahydroxybenzoate) - 0.15 mg; purified water - up to 100 mg.
Composition of 100 mg topical ointment:
- active substance: ketoconazole - 2 mg;
- additional components: propyl parahydroxybenzoate - 0.05 mg; butylhydroxytoluene - 0.1 mg; emulsion wax - 1 mg; polysorbate-80 - 2 mg; monoglycerides - 1.2 mg; hypromellose - 1.6 mg; castor oil - 5 mg; methyl parahydroxybenzoate - 0.15 mg; purified water - up to 100 mg.
Composition of 100 mg shampoo:
- active substance: ketoconazole - 2 mg;
- additional components: butylhydroxytoluene (dibunol) - 0.1 mg; sodium lauryl sulfate - 14 mg; coconut oil fatty acid propyl betainamide (cocamidopropyl betaine) - 1.2 mg; sodium chloride - 1.5 mg; diethanolamide of fatty acids of coconut oil (cocodiethanolamide) - 0.85 mg; disodium edetate (Trilon B) - 0.5 mg; perfume composition - 0.2 mg; acrylamide and diallyldimethylammonium chloride copolymer (polyquaternium-7) - 0.5 mg; citric acid - 0.08 mg; methylchloroisothiazolinone (CG catone) - 0.05 mg; crimson dye (Ponso 4R) - 0.0018 mg; purified water - up to 100 mg.
Indications for use
Ointment for external and local use
- fungal infections caused by pathogens that are sensitive to the action of ketoconazole;
- dermatomycosis: skin candidiasis, epidermophytosis groin, smooth skin dermatomycosis, epidermophytosis of the hands and feet, pityriasis versicolor, seborrheic dermatitis caused by the fungus Pityrosporum ovale;
- folliculitis.
Shampoo
Sebozol is prescribed for the treatment and prevention of the following diseases / conditions:
- seborrheic dermatitis;
- mycoses of hair;
- dandruff;
- pityriasis versicolor;
- mold mycoses.
Contraindications
- pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding;
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Method of administration and dosage
Ointment for external and local use
Sebozol is used externally. The ointment is applied to the affected areas of the skin and the surrounding areas (about 2 cm).
The frequency of application of the drug is 1 time per day.
After the symptoms disappear, treatment should be continued for several days.
Average duration of a therapeutic course:
- candidiasis, mold mycoses, pityriasis versicolor: 2-3 weeks;
- dermatophytosis: 2-6 weeks;
- epidermophytosis inguinal: 2-4 weeks.
In the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis, Sebozol is applied 1-2 times a day for a course of 2-4 weeks; in the treatment of mold mycoses - 1 time per day for 5 days, with a preventive purpose, therapy is continued for 3 days.
Shampoo
Sebozol is used externally.
The shampoo is applied after pre-wetting the hair on the affected areas of the skin or scalp. The duration of the procedure is 3-5 minutes, at the end of the preparation is washed off with water.
Recommended dosing regimen for treatment / prevention:
- dandruff of various types: every 3-4 days for a course of 8 weeks / 1 time in 14 days;
- pityriasis versicolor: daily in a course of 5 days, if there is no effect, the course is extended to 7 days / daily in a one-time course of 3-5 days before summer;
- seborrheic dermatitis: 2 times a week for a course of 2–4 weeks / 1 time in 14 days;
- mold mycoses: 1 time per day for 5 days / 1 time per day for 3 days.
Side effects
Ointment for external and local use
A burning sensation, allergic reactions, contact dermatitis.
Shampoo
Hair loss, local irritation, allergic reactions (in the form of urticaria, skin rash), burning / itching of the skin, increased dryness or oily hair.
special instructions
When applying shampoo, be careful not to get it in your eyes, if necessary, rinse them with water.
Drug interactions
There is no information on the significant interaction of Sebozol with other drugs / substances.
Terms and conditions of storage
Store in a dark, dry place out of reach of children at temperatures up to 15 ° C (ointment for external and local use) or 25 ° C (shampoo).
