Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

The active substance of Melarithm is melatonin, a synthetic analogue of the hormone of the pineal gland (pineal gland of internal secretion), which helps to normalize circadian rhythms. By regulating the cycle of alternation of sleep and wakefulness, daily changes in body temperature and locomotor activity, the drug improves the parameters of night sleep. It promotes faster falling asleep, improves sleep quality, reduces the number and severity of nocturnal awakenings, promotes well-being after waking up in the morning (does not cause feelings of fatigue, weakness and lethargy), and also affects the quality of dreams, making them more emotionally rich and vivid.

Melatonin helps to reduce the intensity of stress reactions and adapt the body with a rapid change of time zones.

The drug has the property of reducing the secretion of gonadotropic hormones and, to a lesser extent, other hormones of the anterior pituitary gland - somatotropin, thyrotropin, corticotropin.

Melarhythm has a pronounced antioxidant and immunostimulating effect.

The drug does not cause addiction and dependence.

Pharmacokinetics

When taken orally, melatonin is absorbed quickly and completely in the gastrointestinal tract. The substance easily penetrates the histohematogenous barriers, including the blood-brain barrier. The half-life is relatively short.
