Dioxizol is a combined antimicrobial agent (local anesthetic + antimicrobial).
Release form and composition
Aerosol for external and local use: a liquid that forms a white foam when leaving the container (30 or 60 g in aluminum aerosol cans with a nozzle, 1 can in a cardboard box).
Aerosol composition (in 1 bottle):
- active ingredients: dioxidine - 300/600 mg, trimecaine - 1500/3000 mg;
- excipients: proxanol, propylene glycol, freon, purified water.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Dioxisol stimulates regeneration processes, has a local anesthetic, antibacterial and anti-burn effect. Eliminates perifocal and wound inflammation, activates the reparation processes and the action of phagocytes in the wound.
The antibacterial function is due to the presence of dioxidine and includes an effect on gram-positive and gram-negative, anaerobic and aerobic, asporogenic and spore-forming microflora, hospital strains of bacteria with multi-resistance to other chemotherapeutic drugs.
When applied topically, the drug does not damage grafts and granulation tissue. Does not have a local irritating and general toxic effect.
Indications for use
- infected wounds of soft tissues, fistulas, trophic ulcers, abscesses, bedsores;
- 2nd-4th degree burns (deep and superficial);
- prevention of purulent-inflammatory processes in cosmetology and military field surgery, when performing plastic surgery;
- Phase I of the wound process and phase II with the growth of granulation tissue in the wound with persistent zones of inflammation and necrosis.
It is used in traumatology, surgery, proctology.
Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated in case of high sensitivity to its components.
Instructions for use of Dioxisol: method and dosage
According to the instructions, Dioxizol is intended for local or external use.
It is used after pretreatment of the wound with the removal of necrotic tissue and exudate. The aerosol is applied to the affected area, completely covering the wound with foam. The required amount of the drug for a single use depends on the area of the wound surface.
In the treatment of burns, the foam is applied in a uniform layer 1 cm thick and a gauze bandage is applied. Dressings must be changed once a day. Using a nozzle, foam is injected into fistulas, wound cavities and pockets 1-2 times a day. Before each use, rinse the nozzle with boiled water.
The daily dose for external use is 100 g, with the introduction into the cavity - 70 g.
The duration of treatment depends on the course of the wound process and should not exceed 15 days.
