Depanthenol is a drug belonging to the group of vitamin-like, dermatotropic, regenerating agents.
Release form
Dosage form of the drug:

Pharmacological action of Depanthenol
On the body of a candle, Depanthenol, ointment / cream, emulsion and aerosol have a metabolic, mild anti-inflammatory and regenerating effect.
Depanthenol is a vitamin of group B. The main active ingredient of the drug - Dexpanthenol - in the human body passes into pantothenic acid, which is a component of coenzyme A. According to the instructions for Depanthenol, it takes an active part in fat, carbohydrate metabolism, in the processes of acetylation, stimulation of the regeneration of mucous membranes and skin, in the synthesis of porphyrins, corticosteroids and acetylcholine. It is noted that the drug is able to increase the strength of collagen fibers and accelerate mitosis.
Indications for the use of Depanthenol

Application methods
Depanthenol cream and ointment must be applied, according to indications, at least once a day. On the nipple area of the breast, the drug is applied in the form of a compress.
Preference should be given to an ointment or cream, taking into account the nature of the surface to be treated. So, the ointment contains a fairly high percentage of fat, so it is recommended for dry skin areas. There is no fat in the cream, so it is recommended for open areas of the body and wet wounds. It is worth noting that the cream is very easily rubbed into the surface of the skin, so it is especially convenient for painful sunburns or minor burns of other origin.
Suppositories Depanthenol is used intravaginally, 1 suppository twice a day. The course of treatment, as a rule, is 7-10 days, if necessary, the doctor can extend the therapy up to 20 days.
Aerosol Depanthenol is sprayed externally at a distance of 10-20 cm on the affected areas a couple of times a day. Care must be taken to ensure that the entire surface of the skin is covered with the preparation when spraying. Shake the can with Depanthenol before use.
Side effects
