Indications for use

It is possible to use Devirs both as an independent drug and in combination with other dosage forms of ribavirin intended for oral and parenteral administration in such diseases as:

  • infections of the mucous membranes and skin caused by Herpes simplex viruses of types 1 and 2, various locations, including in the genital area;
  • herpes zoster (as a combination therapy).

Contraindications

  • high sensitivity to drug components;
  • pregnancy;
  • lactation period;
  • age up to 18 years.

Method of administration and dosage

Devirs is intended for external use: it is applied with light rubbing movements to the affected area of the skin and mucous membrane (they should be washed and dried in advance) with a thin, even layer.

It should be used 5 times a day until the symptoms of the disease disappear completely.

If there is no improvement within 8 days of using the drug, it is required to stop therapy and consult a specialist.

To achieve the best effect, treatment should be started at the first manifestations of symptoms of the disease.

When prescribing the drug in combination with other dosage forms of ribavirin for intravenous or oral administration, the dose of the cream should be reduced.
