Solution for intra-articular administration of Gialgan Phidia

Gialgan Phidia is a drug that has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and action that corrects the metabolism of cartilage and bone tissue.

Gialgan Phidia is available in the form of a solution for intra-articular administration: transparent, colorless, viscous consistency (2 ml in colorless glass vials, in a cardboard box of 1 or 5 bottles; 2 ml in colorless glass syringes, in a blister strip 1 syringe, in a cardboard pack of 1 or 5 packs).

Composition of 1 ml solution:

  • active substance: sodium hyaluronate - 10 mg;
  • auxiliary components: sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium chloride, water for injection, disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate.

Indications for use

The drug Gialgan Phidia is used for osteoarthritis and post-traumatic changes in the joints, to improve the mobility of synovial joints and relieve pain, as well as as an adjunct in orthopedic surgery.

Contraindications

  • severe liver disease;
  • damage to the skin or infection in the injection area;
  • hypersensitivity to avian proteins;
  • hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.

Method of administration and dosage

Gialgan Phidia solution is intended for intra-articular administration.

The recommended dose for injections into the hip and knee joints is 20 mg. The drug is administered once a week. The course of treatment requires 3 to 5 injections.

When performing the procedure, the rules of antisepsis and asepsis should be followed.

The drug is injected exactly into the joint cavity, taking into account the anatomical features. Before the introduction of the solution, it is necessary to remove the effusion from the joint capsule. A single needle inserted once before aspiration can be used to inject Gialgan Fidia and remove effusion. For this, the syringe with the aspirated liquid is freed from the needle and the syringe with the drug is attached to the same needle. To make sure the needle is in the articular cavity, the synovial fluid should be aspirated before slowly injecting the solution. If pain occurs during the injection, the drug should be discontinued.

Do not allow air to enter the syringe with the solution.

The drug remaining in the syringe after administration is not subject to storage.

Side effects

When using Gialgan Phidia, local side reactions may occur: edema, redness and fever at the injection site, an increase in the exudate content in the articular cavity, moderate transient soreness. These effects are transient and disappear on their own after 24 hours. If these symptoms occur, it is advisable to relieve the affected joint and apply ice to it.

In isolated cases, allergic reactions are observed (rash, itching, anaphylactic reactions, urticaria).

special instructions

During the first two days after the injection of Gialgan Phidia, it is recommended to loosen the load on the joint and not overload it. Prolonged activity should be avoided.

The resulting aspiration fluid must be examined before administration of the drug in order to exclude a bacterial origin of arthritis.

Gialgan Phidia is not recommended for use in children, since there are no clinical data on its use in pediatric practice.

The drug does not affect the patient's ability to drive and perform other potentially hazardous work associated with high concentration of attention and quick reactions.

Drug interactions

It is not recommended to use disinfectants containing quaternary ammonium salts, since in the presence of these substances hyaluronic acid precipitates.

The drug should not be used concurrently with other drugs for intra-articular administration, since there is insufficient clinical experience with the use of such combinations.
