Vitafacol is a complex drug for topical use in ophthalmic practice, with anti-cataract action, activating metabolism and cellular respiration, stimulating the synthesis of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and nicotinated dinucleotide, improving metabolic and energy processes in the lens.
Release form and composition
Vitafacol is produced in the form of eye drops (in 10 ml polyethylene bottles equipped with a dropper cap, 1 bottle in a cardboard box).
Content of active ingredients in 1 ml of solution:
- adenosine - 2 mg;
- sodium succinate - 0.6 mg;
- 74% cytochrome C - 0.5 mg;
- nicotinamide - 10 mg.
Indications for use
Vitafacol drops are used for the treatment and prevention of cataracts.
Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated for use in case of identified individual hypersensitivity to any of its components.
Method of administration and dosage
Vitafacol is used by instillation into the conjunctival sac.
The solution is instilled into the sore eye 3 times / day, 2 drops.
Side effects
Possible side reactions: conjunctival hyperemia (red eye syndrome), burning sensation.
