Arbidol is a drug that belongs to the group of antiviral and immunomodulatory drugs.
Release form
Arbidol is available in the form of yellow tablets or capsules, in the middle of the capsule there are granules and powder, the color of this mixture varies from pure white to white with a cream or greenish-yellow tinge.
Arbidol is produced in capsules with an active substance of 50 and 100 mg and in tablets with an active substance of 100 or 200 mg. Method of application of Arbidol and doses
According to the instructions for Arbidol, the drug must be taken orally after meals.
A single dose for adults and children over twelve years old is 200 mg, for children aged six to twelve years old - 100 mg, for children aged three to six years - 50 mg.
The use of Arbidol as a prophylaxis
1. In contact with a sick person (influenza and SARS):
- adults and children over 12 - 200 mg / day;
- children 6-12 years old - 100 mg / day;
- children 3-6 years old - 50 mg / day.
Arbidol is taken once a day, the course of treatment is from 10 days to two weeks.
2. For the prevention of recurrence of chronic bronchitis and herpes infection during the spread of influenza and ARVI:

4. For the prevention of infection after surgery:

3. For the treatment of SARS:
- adults and children after 12 years old - 200 mg 2 times / day, the course is 8-10 days.
4. In combination with other drugs for the treatment of chronic bronchitis and recurrent herpes infection:
- adults and children over 12 years old - 200 mg 4 times / day, 5-7 days, then - 200 mg 2 times / 7 days, course 4 weeks.
- children 6-12 years old - 100 mg 4 times / day, 5-7 days, then - 100 mg 2 times / 7 days, course 4 weeks.
- children 3-6 years old - 50 mg 4 times / day, 5-7 days, then - 50 mg 2 times / 7 days, course 4 weeks.

Side effects
