Medicinal prescription

Medicinal prescription (praescriptio; synonym: prescription) is a prescription that regulates the quantitative and qualitative composition of the manufactured medicinal product.

Types of medicinal prescription:

  • manual (lat. manualis - manual) - prescription of dosage forms, pharmaceutical (galenic) drugs and some other technical materials and products included in the manual, but not included in the pharmacopoeia;
  • prescription (Latin receptum - accepted, taken from recipio - I receive, accept; synonyms: main drug prescription, extemporal drug prescription) - compiled by a doctor at his discretion for the manufacture of a drug in a pharmacy intended for a specific patient;
  • pharmacopoea; Greek pharmakon - medicine + poieō - to cook, to do; synonym: officinal medicinal prescription (from the Latin officina - pharmacy)] - included in the current edition of the State Pharmacopoeia of the Russian Federation or in other documents approved by the Pharmacopoeial Committee of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, and which is mandatory for pharmacists and doctors.
