Tramicent is an antibacterial agent (aminoglycoside) used topically in otolaryngology.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - nasal spray dosed 1.25%: colorless or almost colorless transparent liquid (in a cardboard box 1 polyethylene bottle, complete with a spray nozzle containing 10 or 15 ml of the drug, and instructions for the use of Tramicent).
Composition of 1 ml of medicinal product:
- active substance: framycetin sulfate - 12.5 mg [corresponds to 8000 units (units of action)];
- auxiliary components: anhydrous citric acid, sodium citrate dihydrate, sodium chloride, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, water for injection.
Pharmacological properties
Framycetin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic for topical use in otolaryngology.
The drug has a bactericidal effect. Shows activity against most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (hemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus), leading to the appearance of infectious processes in the upper respiratory tract.
Indications for use
Tramicent is recommended for use in the combined treatment of infectious and inflammatory pathologies of the upper respiratory tract, including sinusitis (if there is no damage to the septum), rhinopharyngitis and rhinitis.
The drug is also prescribed for the prevention and treatment of inflammatory processes after surgery.
Contraindications
- application for the purpose of washing the paranasal sinuses;
- pregnancy;
- lactation period;
- established hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, as well as other aminoglycoside antibacterial drugs.

Spray Tramicent is intended for intranasal use.
Recommended dosing regimen: 1 injection in each nasal passage. The frequency of use for adults is 4 to 6 times a day. For children, Tramicent can be used up to 3 times a day.
The duration of use of the medicinal product should not exceed 7 days.
