Release form and composition
The drug is available in the form of an ointment for external use 0.025%: from light yellow to yellow (10 or 15 g in aluminum tubes, in a cardboard box 1 tube and instructions for use of Sinaflana-Akrihin).
Composition of 100 g of ointment:
- active substance: fluocinolone acetonide - 0.025 g (in terms of 100% substance);
- auxiliary components: solid paraffin, petrolatum, lanolin, propylene glycol.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
The active ingredient of Sinaflana-Akrikhin - fluocinolone acetonide, is a glucocorticosteroid for external use.
When exposed to the skin, the drug inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators, and also prevents the marginal accumulation of neutrophils, as a result of which inflammatory exudate and cytokine production decreases, the migration of macrophages is delayed, and the process of infiltration and granulation decreases.
Sinaflan-Akrikhin has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects.
Pharmacokinetics
After absorption of fluocinolone from the skin surface, acetonide binds to plasma proteins. The substance is metabolized in the liver, resulting in the formation of metabolites that do not have pharmacological activity.
It is excreted mainly by the kidneys.
Indications for use
Sinaflan-Akrikhin is intended for the treatment of inflammatory and allergic skin diseases of non-microbial etiology, such as atopic dermatitis, pruritus, lichen simplex chronicus (limited neurodermatitis), psoriasis, eczema and other chronic diseases accompanied by dry skin.
Contraindications
- ulcers and wounds at the application sites;
- atheroma, nevus, xanthoma, hemangioma, melanoma, sarcoma, skin cancer;
- diaper rash;
- extensive psoriatic plaques;
- rosacea;
- lupus;
- cutaneous manifestations of syphilis;
- anogenital itching;
- trophic ulcers of the leg associated with varicose veins;
- skin infections caused by bacteria / viruses / fungi: sporotrichosis, actinomycosis, pyoderma, blastomycosis, herpes, chickenpox;
- erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract;
- children's age up to 2 years;
- period of pregnancy and lactation;
- hypersensitivity to drug components.
With caution, the ointment should be applied to girls during puberty.
Sinaflan-Akrikhin, instructions for use: method and dosage
Sinaflan-Akrikhin ointment is used externally. Before using the drug, the skin should first be wiped with a swab soaked in an antiseptic liquid.
The ointment should be applied 2–4 times a day and rubbed lightly. If necessary, you can apply an occlusive dressing and leave it up to 3-4 days, in this case the amount of ointment should not exceed 2 g per day.
The duration of therapy is determined depending on the nature of the disease and the individual tolerance of the drug, usually 5-10 days. With a persistent course of the disease, the course is extended to 25 days or more.
For children from 2 years of age and older, the ointment is prescribed in minimal doses, the maximum duration of treatment for patients of this age group is 5 days.
Side effects
Sinaflan-Akrikhin ointment can cause the following side effects: dry skin, itching, burning, striae, steroid acne, folliculitis.
With long-term treatment, it is possible: a violation of the pigmentation of the skin, local hirsutism, purpura, hypertrichosis, telangiectasia, skin atrophy, alopecia (especially in women), secondary immunodeficiency (development of opportunistic infections, generalization of the infectious process, exacerbation of chronic infectious diseases).
When using the ointment on large areas of the skin, signs characteristic of the systemic use of glucocorticosteroids may develop: a slowdown in reparative processes, "steroid" diabetes mellitus, "steroid" stomach ulcers, gastritis, Itsenko-Cushing's syndrome, adrenal insufficiency.
Overdose
Symptoms: burning and itching of the skin at the site of application of the ointment, glucosuria, hyperglycemia, Itsenko-Cushing's syndrome.
When these symptoms appear, Sinaflan-Akrikhin is gradually canceled and symptomatic treatment is carried out.

Sinaflan-Akrikhin is recommended for use on small areas of the skin in short courses.
Do not apply the ointment to your face. It is important to avoid eye contact.
In the case of the development of local infectious complications, the agent is prescribed in combination with antimicrobial drugs.
During the therapy period, it is recommended to avoid wearing tight clothing in the areas of applications.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and complex mechanisms
The components of Sinaflana-Akrikhin do not have the ability to have a negative effect on the psychophysical and cognitive functions of a person, therefore they cannot disrupt concentration and reaction speed.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
It is contraindicated to use Sinaflan-Akrikhin during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
Pediatric use
Sinaflan-Akrikhin is not prescribed for children under 2 years of age.
Children from 2 years of age and older should use the ointment in the minimum effective doses for a period of no more than 5 days.
Drug interactions
Fluocinolone acetonide can be used in combination with antimicrobial drugs.
Sinaflan-Akrikhin is able to reduce the activity of potassium preparations, as well as antiarrhythmic, diuretic and antihypertensive drugs.
With the simultaneous use of diuretics (with the exception of potassium-sparing ones), hypokalemia may develop.
