Silokast is a pharmacological drug intended for the treatment of alopecia areata.
Composition and form of release
Silokast is available as a solution for external use. The active ingredients are Dimexide and Levanol. In addition, the drug also contains castor oil. 100 g of Silokast contains 3% Levanol, 65% Dimexide and 32% Castor oil. Externally, the drug is a two-phase solution, consisting of two layers. The top layer is light yellow and the bottom layer is almost colorless.
Silokast is produced in glass bottles of 50 and 100 g. In a cardboard package 1 bottle with instructions.
Pharmacological action of Silokast
According to the instructions Silokast stimulates hair growth. Lebanol is an organosilicon compound and has a stimulating effect on hair follicles. Dimexide promotes good penetration of the active substance to the hair follicles and roots. Castor oil is a source of provitamins A and D, improves the trophism of hair roots.
Indications for use
Silokast is recommended for use in alopecia areata in adults and children over 15 years of age.
Contraindications to the use of Silokast
This drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the constituent components of the drug, recent myocardial infarction. Children under 15 years of age, pregnancy and lactation are also contraindications.
Silokast should be used with caution in patients over 60 years of age.

According to the instructions, Silokast is used externally. It should be applied to the scalp with a cotton swab. The drug is applied by lightly blotting (never rub in!) The scalp 2 times a day. The recommended daily dose of Silokast is 1-5 g. The duration of treatment with this drug is selected individually, depending on the intensity and duration of the disease.
