Ocuwaite Lutein Forte is a food biologically active additive (BAA), a source of carotenoids (lutein, zeaxanthin), vitamins (tocopherol, ascorbic acid) and trace elements (selenium, zinc). It is used to preserve eye health, helps to reduce the influence of harmful factors, to maintain visual acuity, and helps to strengthen blood vessels and fundus capillaries.
Release form and composition
The dosage form of the drug Ocuwaite Lutein Forte - tablets weighing 570 and 630 mg with a smooth surface and a neutral taste, include microcapsules with a high content of zeaxanthin and lutein, with their controlled and gradual release (10 pcs. - active substances: vegetable carotenoids (from marigolds) - 6.5 mg (including lutein - 6 mg, zeaxanthin - 0.5 mg); ascorbic acid (vitamin C) - 60 mg; tocopherol (vitamin E) - 8.8 mg; selenium (selenium yeast) - 0.02 mg, zinc - 5 mg;
- fillers: gelatin, starch, cellulose, palm oil;
- dyes: iron hydroxide and oxide, titanium dioxide, Ponceau 4R, sunset yellow;
- emulsifiers: magnesium salts of fatty acids, sugar, silicon dioxide, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose;
- glazing agents: fatty acids, talc, glycerin.

The body does not produce the components contained in Ocuwaite Lutein Forte, and therefore they should be included in the daily human diet.
Pharmacological action of the active components of the product (natural antioxidants):
- carotenoids of plant origin: participate in the mechanism of protection of the retina from the destructive effect of bright light, reduce the likelihood of the appearance and development of age-related pathological changes in the retina, have an anti-inflammatory effect; the carotenoid lutein is a natural defense of the inner sensitive membrane of the eye from too bright lighting; carotenoid zeaxanthin - a yellow pigment included in the group of xanthophylls, accumulating in the pigment of the retina of the human eye, protects it from cell damage induced by light, promotes the destruction of the aging pigment - lipofuscin; according to clinical studies, long-term use of zeaxanthin and lutein increases the density of macular pigment, thereby contributing to the maintenance of good visual acuity;
- ascorbic acid (vitamin C): one of the most important antioxidants needed by humans; takes part in redox processes, carbohydrate metabolism, hemocoagulation, regulates the regeneration of visual pigments, reduces increased intraocular pressure, reduces the likelihood of developing glaucoma;
- tocopherol (vitamin E): a biological inhibitor of oxidative processes in the body, inactivating free radicals, interfering with their formation; prevents the increase in fragility and capillary permeability; has a preventive effect on the development of cataracts, slowing down its development;
- zinc: an important element in the antioxidant defense of cell membranes; provides eye protection from ultraviolet radiation and bright lighting; slows down age-related changes in the retina. A lack of a trace element can cause a decrease in color perception, and also contribute to the formation of cataracts;
- selenium: neutralizes free peroxide radicals, protecting cells from their toxic effects.
