Release form and composition
Calceks is available in the form of tablets: with a line and a chamfer, flat-cylindrical, hygroscopic, white (in blisters of 10 pcs., 1 or 2 packages in a cardboard box).
The composition of 1 tablet includes:
- Active ingredient: methenamine calcium chloride decahydrate - 500 mg;
- Auxiliary components: calcium stearate, talc.
Indications for use
- Acute respiratory diseases (for symptomatic therapy);
- Colds (as part of complex therapy for adults with the initial signs of the disease).
Contraindications
- Chronic renal failure
- Liver failure;
- Hypoacid gastric juice;
- Childhood;
- Pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding (lactation);

Method of administration and dosage
Calceks is taken orally.
Recommended dosage regimen: 1-2 tablets 3-4 times a day.
The duration of the course is from 3 to 5 days.
Side effects
Reception of Kalcex can be the cause of dyspeptic disorders, in the event of which the drug therapy should be discontinued.
If the dose is exceeded, an overdose is possible, the symptoms of which are: sharp irritation of the conjunctiva of the eyes and mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, glomerulonephritis, dyspeptic disorders (including diarrhea, nausea, vomiting). For the treatment of this condition, it is recommended to take thioctic, folic, ascorbic acids, pyridoxine and nicotinic acid preparations.
