Bisacodyl-Nizhpharm is a laxative that stimulates intestinal peristalsis.

Release form and composition

The drug is produced in the form of rectal suppositories: from white to white with a pale yellow shade, torpedo-like, plaque may be present on the surface, and on the cut - a funnel-shaped depression and an air rod (5 pcs. Pharmacological properties

Bisacodyl - an active substance in the Bisacodyl-Nizhpharm suppositories, leads to irritation of the intestinal receptor apparatus, directly affecting the intestinal mucosa, providing an increase in its peristalsis and an increase in mucus production in the large intestine.

Bisacodyl is not absorbed in the intestine. It belongs to prodrugs and when it enters an alkaline environment through hydrolysis, it is biotransformed to a metabolite that irritates the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT). The effect is observed during the first hour after intrarectal administration of the drug.

Indications for use

  • atonic and hypotonic constipation, including constipation after surgery and childbirth, and constipation in the elderly;

Contraindications

Absolute:

  • spastic constipation;
