Release form and composition
Coldakt is produced in the form of extended-release capsules (10 pcs in blisters, 1 blister in a cardboard box).
1 capsule contains active substances:
- Phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride - 50 mg;
- Chlorpheniramine maleate - 8 mg.
Pharmacological properties
Phenylpropanolamine helps to reduce edema and hyperemia of the paranasal sinuses and mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract, constricts blood vessels and activates the activity of alpha-adrenergic receptors. Chlorphenamine is a blocker of H 1 -histamine receptors, helps to get rid of itching in the eyes and nose, as well as lacrimation, reduces the permeability of the walls of blood vessels localized in the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, and prevents the development of allergic reactions.

Instructions for the use of Coldact: method and dosage
Coldakt capsules are taken orally.
Single dose - 1 capsule, frequency of administration - 2 times a day (observing a 12-hour interval).
The duration of therapy is determined by the indications:
- Influenza and acute respiratory viral infections - 1-3 days;
- Chronic rhinitis - 30 days;
- Allergic rhinitis - 3-6 days;
- Sinusitis - 6-12 days.
Side effects
During the use of Coldact, side effects such as headache, drowsiness, dry mucous membranes, and arterial hypertension may develop.
Overdose
In medical practice, there are no reports of overdose cases of Coldact. However, it has been suggested that long-term use of the drug at high doses sometimes leads to renal or liver dysfunction. The use of the drug in doses higher than 15 g can provoke acute intoxication of the body, expressed in nausea, vomiting, hepatic dysfunction, pallor of the skin. If unwanted symptoms appear, it is recommended to flush the stomach and prescribe symptomatic therapy.
