Angiopathy
Angiopathy (angiopathia; Greek angeion (prefix) - a vessel related to vessels, vascular + Greek pathos - disease, suffering; synonym: vasopathy) is a violation of the tone of blood vessels, which is caused by a disorder of nervous regulation. Angiopathy is manifested by a tendency to dystonia, transient paresis and vascular spasms.
Allocate:
- Hypertensive retinal angiopathy (a. Retinae hypertonica) - occurs with hypertension; ophthalmoscopically characterized by uneven, in some cases significant narrowing of the arteries, symptoms of Gvist and Salus;
- Hypotonic retinal angiopathy (a. Retinae hypotonica) - occurs with hypotonic disease; ophthalmoscopically characterized by the expansion and branching of the arteries, pulsation of the veins;
- Diabetic retinal angiopathy (a. Retinae diabetica) - a manifestation of diabetic microangiopathy in the retina; characterized by swelling and homogenization of the walls of arterioles and capillaries, the development of venous hemorrhages and microaneurysms in the macular region and around the optic nerve head.
