Eliksin is a combined preparation for external use with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects.
Release form and composition
The drug is produced in the form of a solution for external use (alcoholic): a yellow liquid with a transparent structure and a slight aromatic odor (250 ml each in dark glass vials, 1 bottle in a cardboard box and instructions for using Elixin; 500 ml or 1000 ml each polyethylene terephthalate bottles, in a cardboard box 8 bottles).
100 ml of solution contains:
- active ingredients: salicylic acid - 2 g; tincture of calendula - 10 ml; Echinacea dry extract - 0.3 g;
- auxiliary components: ethyl alcohol 95% (ethanol), propylene glycol, purified water.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Elixin is a dermatoprotective drug. The properties of the components of its combined composition provide a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect and antimicrobial activity against microorganisms such as Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli.
The skin is protected from excessive drying with ethanol by propylene glycol, which is part of the solution.
Indications for use
The use of the drug is indicated for the prevention of the development of bedsores in bedridden patients (including conditions after injuries, operations, burns and frostbite).
Contraindications
Absolute:
- violation of the integrity of the skin in the areas of the intended application of the solution;
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
With caution, only on the recommendation of a doctor, it is possible to use the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Eliksin, instructions for use: method and dosage
The solution is applied externally, by applying to the skin (without violating the integrity) of problem areas of the body. The procedure is performed using a cotton-gauze swab soaked in the drug.
Recommended frequency of procedures: 2-3 times a day.
The duration of the preventive course is 14 days.
If necessary, a second course can be carried out after 14-28 days.
Side effects
Against the background of the application of the solution for external use Elixin, the development of allergic reactions is possible.

Overdose symptoms have not been established.
