Release form and composition
The release form of Exportal is a powder (white crystalline) for preparation of a solution for oral administration. Packaged in 5 or 10 g sachets (single-dose sachets), 6, 10, 12, 20 sachets or 3, 5, 6 or 10 strips are put in a cardboard box (a strip is 2 connected sachets, which can be divided along a perforated strip); 200 or 500 mg in plastic containers.
Active ingredient: lactitol monohydrate, its content is equivalent to the weight of the package.
There are no auxiliary components.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Lactitol, the active substance of Exportal, is broken down in the large intestine (under the action of the intestinal flora) into low molecular weight organic acids, as a result of which osmotic pressure rises here, the volume of feces increases and their consistency is significantly softened, defecation is facilitated, and intestinal function is normalized.
The laxative effect develops within 24 hours after taking the drug. The delayed action is due to the passage of lactitol through the gastrointestinal tract. However, at the beginning of treatment, the effect may occur 2-3 days after using the agent.
In patients with hepatic encephalopathy, hepatic precoma or coma, the laxative effect is achieved due to the migration of ammonia from the blood into the large intestine (due to a decrease in pH and an increase in osmotic pressure in the intestinal lumen) and removal of trapped ammonium ions and other toxic nitrogen-containing substances from the colon.
Lactitol inhibits proteolytic bacteria, increases the number of acidophilic bacteria.
Pharmacokinetics
Lactitol acts in the large intestine, where it is absorbed after oral administration.
It is absorbed unchanged in minimal quantities - no more than 2% of the dose taken.
Indications for use

- intestinal dysbiosis;
- the need to regulate the stool for medical purposes: during surgery on the rectum, anal sphincter and the area adjacent to it, as well as to cleanse the intestines in preparation for endoscopic and X-ray examinations;

Instructions for use of Exportal: method and dosage

With dysbiosis and constipation, the drug is taken 1 time per day (daily dose at one time). Recommended daily doses:

5 g of powder corresponds to 1 teaspoon.
The exporter must induce a chair once a day. A stable effect develops over several days, after which the dose of the drug can be reduced. Sometimes half the daily dose is enough to achieve the effect. The minimum duration of treatment is 5 months, after which a doctor's consultation is required. Therapy for children is recommended to be carried out under medical supervision.
If it is necessary to regulate the stool for medical purposes, patients are prescribed 20 g of the drug. The powder is diluted in 1 liter of water and divided into 3 doses - at 12, 15 and 18 hours - on the eve of the day of the study or surgery.
The dose of the drug for hyperammonemia, hepatic encephalopathy, precoma and coma is selected individually, depending on the severity of the disease and the individual effectiveness of therapy. She should call for two soft stools a day. The initial dose is, as a rule, 0.5-0.7 g / kg, it is divided into 3 doses in equal parts. The solution should be taken with meals.
Side effects
In the first days of treatment, flatulence may appear, possibly a feeling of discomfort in the abdomen. These unpleasant phenomena usually disappear with continued therapy as the body adapts to lactitol.
With prolonged excess of recommended doses in patients with hepatic encephalopathy, there is a risk of developing electrolyte imbalance due to diarrhea.
Overdose
An overdose of Exportal is manifested by diarrhea, in some cases vomiting occurs. Typically, these reactions resolve after lowering the dose.
