Release form and composition

Dosage form of Strezam - capsules: gelatinous, smooth, shiny, size No. 2, with a blue lid and white body; the contents of the capsule are white with a yellowish tinge or white powder (12 or 20 pieces in a blister made of aluminum / PVC, 2 or 3 blisters in a carton box).

Composition of 1 capsule:

• active substance: etifoxine hydrochloride - 50 mg;
• excipients: lactose monohydrate - 119 mg, talc - 15 mg, microcrystalline cellulose - 10 mg, magnesium stearate - 3 mg, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide - 3 mg;
• shell: indigo carmine, titanium dioxide, gelatin.

Pharmacodynamics

It is a derivative of benzoxazine, has anxiolytic activity, has a slight sedative effect. Does not cause withdrawal or addiction. Selectively affects the chlorine channels (SG channels) of the supramolecular GABA-benzodiazepine-chlorionophore receptor complex, reducing GABA-ergic transmission.

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption from the gastrointestinal tract is rapid. It is actively metabolized in the liver to the formation of some metabolites. Diethylethifoxine (one of the metabolites) is active and its half-life is approximately 20 hours.

Passes through the placental barrier.

The duration of reaching the maximum concentration in the blood is 2-3 hours, the half-life is approximately 6 hours.

It is excreted in the form of metabolites mainly in the urine, as well as unchanged in small volumes. Also excreted in the bile.

Indications for use

Strezam is indicated for the elimination of fear, internal tension, increased irritability, anxiety, mood reduction (including diseases on the dental background, especially of a cardiovascular nature).

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
• myasthenia gravis;
• shock conditions;
• severe renal / liver dysfunction;
• age up to 18 years.

Instructions for use of Strezam: method and dosage

Strezam is administered orally (by mouth) with a little water.

The dose of the medication is determined by the attending physician individually, depending on the patient's condition.

Usually assigned to 1 pc. 3 times a day or 2 pcs. 2 times a day. The maximum daily dose is 150-200 mg.

The duration of therapy is from several days to 4-6 weeks (depending on the patient's condition).

Side effects
