Dexalgin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, an inhibitor of the cyclooxygenase system (analgesic).
pharmachologic effect
Dexalgin has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties. The active ingredient of the drug is the propionic acid salt - dexketoprofen trometamol.
After oral administration, Dexalgin begins to act within half an hour. After the same period of time, the maximum concentration of the drug in the blood is observed. The therapeutic effect of the drug Dexalgin, reviews confirm, lasts for 3-6 hours.
Indications for the use of Dexalgin

Instructions for the use of Dexalgin and doses
Dexalgin, the use of which does not imply long-term treatment, is prescribed as needed, usually for a period of 3 to 5 days.
Dexalgin in the form of tablets should be taken every 4-6 hours at 12.5 mg (1/2 table) from 1 to 6 times a day or every 8 hours at 25 mg (1 table) no more than three times a day. The daily dose of the drug should be within 75 mg (table 3). For patients with impaired renal or liver function, as well as for the elderly, the daily dose should not exceed 50 mg.
Dexalgin injections can be administered intravenously and intramuscularly.
Adults are usually prescribed 50 mg of the drug every 8-12 hours. If necessary, re-introduction of Dexalgin is performed after 6 hours. The daily dose should not exceed 150 mg. Dexalgin injections should not be used longer than 2 days.

- difficult movement in the joints, muscle spasm;
- sweating, rash, dermatitis, urticaria, angioedema;
- hypoglycemia (decreased blood glucose), hyperglycemia (increased glucose concentration);

Contraindications to the use of Dexalgin
The use of Dexalgin should be abandoned by patients with:
- bronchial asthma;
- erosive and ulcerative lesions of the digestive tract;
- severe impairment of liver or kidney function;
- hemorrhagic diathesis;
- severe heart failure;
- hypersensitivity to drug components.
According to the instructions, Dexalgin is contraindicated in children, pregnant and lactating women, as well as in patients taking drugs that prevent the formation of blood clots and blood coagulation (anticoagulants).
Additional Information
Dexalgin tablets should be stored away from light at a temperature not exceeding 30 ° C.
It is recommended to store the preparation in the form of a solution for injection in a place where the air temperature does not rise above 25 0 C. A diluted solution is considered suitable for use within 24 hours, provided it is stored in a dark and cool (2-8 0 C) place. Shelf life of Dexalgin tablets is 2 years, ampoule solution is 5 years.
