Goodluck is a laxative drug with osmotic properties.
Release form and composition
The dosage form of Goodluck is a syrup: viscous, transparent, from brownish-yellow to light yellow, has a caramel smell (in multilayer foil sachets of 15 ml, in a cardboard box 10 sachets; in dark glass bottles of 200 ml, in a cardboard pack 1 bottle with a measuring cup included).
Composition of 1 ml of syrup:
- active substance: lactulose - 667 mg (in the form of liquid lactulose);
- auxiliary components: caramel flavor 12788 - 2 mg; potassium sorbate (E202) - 0.7 mg; purified water - up to 1 ml.
Indications for use
- constipation, including chronic, with hemorrhoids, during pregnancy;
- hepatic coma and precoma;
- hepatic encephalopathy;
- conditions after removal of hemorrhoids with pain syndrome (in order to soften the stool and facilitate bowel movements);
- conditions after surgical interventions in the anus / colon, the period of preparation for surgical interventions in the colon.
Contraindications
- colo-, ileostomy;
- rectal bleeding;
- galactosemia;
- suspicion of appendicitis;
- intestinal obstruction;
- lactose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, lactase deficiency;
- individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Patients with diabetes mellitus Goodluck should be administered with caution.
Method of administration and dosage
Goodluck is taken orally, preferably with meals.
The daily dose should be applied once a day, in the morning.
The size of the daily dose is determined depending on the individual need and response to therapy. It should be borne in mind that the clinical effect usually occurs within 1–2 days from the moment you start taking the drug. If after this time interval the effect is not observed, the dose may be increased.
Recommended daily dose for constipation and in cases of clinical need to facilitate bowel movements (age: starting dose for the first 3 days / maintenance dose):
- children under 1 year old: 5/5 ml;
- children 1–6 years old: 5–10 / 5–10 ml;
- children 7-14 years old: 15 / 10-15 ml;
- adults: 10–45 / 10–25 ml.
The initial single dose for hepatic precoma, coma and encephalopathy is 30-50 ml, the frequency of administration is 3 times a day. The size of the daily dose can vary from 90 to 190 ml. In the future, the dose is selected so that the stool is soft 2-3 times a day, the pH of the stool is from 5 to 5.5.
Side effects
- nervous system: rarely - headache, convulsions, dizziness;
- digestive system: in the first days of admission - flatulence (as a rule, its severity gradually decreases and passes); in cases of taking high doses - diarrhea, pain in the abdomen (dose adjustment is required); rarely - nausea; long-term therapy with high doses for the treatment and prevention of hepatic precoma and coma - disorders of water-electrolyte metabolism and diarrhea;
- others: allergic reactions; rarely - weakness, myalgia, arrhythmias, increased fatigue.
special instructions
Medical advice is required in cases of non-response to therapy / recurrence of constipation for several days.
Patients with diabetes mellitus, when prescribing high doses of Goodluck for the treatment of hepatic precoma and coma, need to be very careful.
With prolonged therapy (from 6 months), the plasma parameters of chlorine, potassium and carbon dioxide ions should be monitored.
In case of gastrocardiac syndrome, in order to avoid the development of flatulence, the dose must be increased gradually (flatulence most often goes away on its own after 2-3 days of treatment).
In elderly patients and debilitated patients taking Goodluck for more than 6 months, it is recommended to periodically monitor the serum electrolyte concentration in the blood.
If diarrhea develops, the drug should be discontinued.
Drug interactions
With the combined use of Goodluck with certain drugs / substances, the following effects may develop:
- antacids, drugs with antibacterial action (neomycin): reducing the effect of Goodluck;
- drugs, absorption / excretion of which depends on the pH value in the intestine: the combination is not recommended.
Taking Goodluck leads to a decrease in the pH value of the intestinal environment, which can lead to a change in the pH-dependent release of enteric drugs.
It is not recommended to take lactulose within 2 hours after taking other medicines.

Terms and conditions of storage
Store at temperatures up to 25 ° C. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not freeze.
Shelf life is 2 years.
